 Service is volunteer work that is done to benefit or help people in the community (outside of your own family). It is work that is done without compensation or reward. Service hours should take place outside of the academic day. (School service projects like Chapel Family Service Days don’t count for service hours.)

Ideas for Service - Babysit free for a school/church function (PNO cannot count if used as a fundraiser) - Volunteer at VBS, Drive-Thru Nativity, Christmas Pageant, Easter Egg Hunt - Assist in clean-up activity at school/church - Serve in some way at: - Ronald McDonald House - Habitat for Humanity - Christian Assistance Ministry - Mission Trips - Peer Tutoring - San Antonio Food Bank - Do yard work for someone in need - cut grass - plant flowers - pull weeds - rake leaves - Provide a collection for an agency or family in need - Assist a school/church worker with some activity or project - Prepare a food item for the needy/shut-ins - Read books to children in after school program - Prepare and send cards to members at church in hospital for a set period of time - Pet shelter volunteer Service is volunteer work that is done to benefit or help people in the community (outside of your own family).
