Approved August 4, 2015 Rockford Township Planning and Zoning Meeting Minutes

Call to Order and the Pledge of Allegiance Supervisor Beise called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. at the Rockford Township Hall with all joining in for the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Present were Supervisors Beise, Eckblad, McDougall, Deitering, Kjome and Clerk McDougall.

Agenda A motion was made by Supervisor Eckblad and seconded by Supervisor Deitering to adopt the agenda as presented. Motion carried unanimously.

Minutes A motion was made by Supervisor Eckblad and seconded by Supervisor Deitering to approve the July 21, 2015 minutes as written. Motion carried unanimously.

New Items Gordon Wigdahl 7106 6th St. SE – Variance to build addition onto house Property owner Wigdahl and Contractor Jim Sale were present to discuss a variance request. Wigdahl is requesting a variance to build a mudroom and garage on to the existing house 10.33 ft. from side property line. The Board discussed areas that will need silt fencing while construction is being done. Contractor Jim Sale added silt-fencing locations to the site plans. The Board noted emergency vehicles would still have access to the back of the home if needed. A motion was made by Supervisor Eckblad and seconded by Supervisor Deitering to approve the variance to build a garage and mudroom addition 10.33 ft. from side property line noting silt fencing will be installed during construction. Motion carried by a unanimous vote.

Doug Silus – Conditional Use Permit for Automotive Shop in the Industrial Park Doug Silus was present to request approval for a conditional use permit to construct and operate an automotive shop in the Whispering Winds Industrial Park. Silus informed the Board there would not be any outside storage of junk vehicles. Any excess vehicles will be hauled away. The Board reviewed the plans and noted silt fencing will be placed during construction. A motion was made by Supervisor McDougall and seconded by Supervisor Deitering to give concept approval for an automotive business in the Industrial Park. Motion carried by a unanimous vote.

Supervisor Kjome and Supervisor Eckblad motioned to adjourn at 6:58 p.m.
