ARTIST STUDENT AWARD APPLICATION (Student)

Grant Period 2013-14 November – November

Purpose of Grants To award emerging artists in the arts community while also building up the credibility and quality of the Business of Art Seminar hosted by Dixie State University and CEBA (The Center for Education, Business and the Arts) and held each November in Kanab, UT.  Awards will be announced at the Business of Art seminar. To be eligible for grant, applicants and recipients must have attended the prior year’s Business of Art Seminar.

 All awards will be based on an independent jurying process with bonus points awarded to applicants from Kane or Washington Counties due to those counties’ leadership in developing the Business of Art seminar.

The Business of Art The Business of Art is an annual seminar held each November at Kanab Middle School that teaches participants about the business side of art. It is open to any visual artist in any discipline as well as to art collectors, educators and anyone who is interested in art. The two-day seminar includes a Friday night reception and keynote, Saturday breakfast, lunch, keynote and classes throughout the day. Registration is required. Artist Awards

Student Award: $2,000  Awarded to an undergraduate or graduate student to be used for tuition, books and fees in pursuit of an arts degree. This funding will be given to the scholarship office of the awardee’s institution of choice.

 All applicants must submit: (1) artist resume (2) artist bio (3) artist statement as it pertains to this proposal (4) Twelve images of artist’s work in high resolution jpeg format on a cd.
