Domestic Help Apprehended with Stolen Cash and Jewellery Worth Rs. 15 Lacs

Ganja Recovered: Mianwali Police ( West District) arrested two persons Rohit and Raju both R/o Jawala Puri and recovered 2.8 Kg Ganja from their possession yesterday. According to Addl DCP West, both the accused were arrested from near Nangloi Bus Depot when they were on motorcycle stolen from South Rohini area.

DOMESTIC HELP APPREHENDED WITH STOLEN CASH AND JEWELLERY WORTH RS. 15 LACS

With the arrest of accused namely Shiv Shankar @ Shankar aged 27 years and apprehension of two juveniles conflicting with law, the local police of PS Kalkaji solved the case of servant theft of cash Rs.11 lacs and gold and diamond jewellery worth Rs. 8 lacs (approx.).

On 18.5.2012, one Mr. Yavit Singh Tehlan resident of E-21, 1st floor, Kalkaji, New Delhi reported that on 17.5.2012, he along with his wife went to see movie between 6.30 PM and 9.30 PM at Saket, New Delhi. When they returned home, they found that their domestic help namely Manoj Kumar was missing. They tried to contact him over his Mobile Phone but the same was found switched off. When they opened the cupboard, they found that cash Rs.11 lacs belonging to a property deal and gold jewellery of his wife worth around Rs. 8 lacs was missing. Immediately, case vide FIR No.137/2012 dated 18.5.2012 u/s 381 IPC was registered at PS Kalkaji and investigation taken up.

INVESTIGATION CONDUCTED

During the course of investigation, a team comprising of SI Babu Lal, SI Satvinder, HC Ajeet Singh, Ct. Yashvir Singh, Ct. Mahesh Chauhan, Ct. Mahender Meena and Const. Rajeev was constituted under the close supervision of Inspr. Brijinder Singh, SHO/Kalkaji. During the course of investigation, location of Shiv Shankar @ Shankar was found at Village Haldwani, Suraj Pur, Greater Noida. The team developed information and conducted raid at Village Haldwani, Greater Noida and arrested accused Shiv Shankar @ Shankar S/o Phulwari Lal R/o Jhuggi No. 206, Rajpura Road, Gudmandi, Delhi and two juvenile associates were apprehended.

PROFILE OF ACCUSED PERSON

Accused Shiv Shandar @ Shankar is a school dropped out and studied upto 5th standard. He has criminal back ground and involved in two cases of Arms Act vide FIR No. 446/2005 & 36/2007 and one case of attempt to murder vide FIR No. 231/2005 u/s 307/34 IPC Police Station Model Town, New Delhi.

MODUS OPERANDI

He used to engage his associates in houses as domestic help and later collects information about the cash and jewellery kept there. Later on, he manages to target the houses whenever finding opportunity through his associates.

RECOVERY

On 25.5.2012, the raiding team conducted the raid and arrested Shiv Shankar @ Shankar and apprehended his JCL associates from Village Haldwani, Greater Noida, UP and recovered cash Rs. 7 lacs and household articles & other articles worth around Rs. 80,000/- which they purchased from the stolen cash and the jewellery articles worth Rs. 8 lacs stolen from house of complainant.

With the arrest of accused Suraj Khan @ Shoaib Khan @ Yahiya Khan @ Shahib Khan @ Moin Kahn @ Gaffar (28 years) s/o Abdul Kalam r/o Village Lilong, PS Lilong, District Thoubal, Manipur, staff of PS Vasant Vihar, South District has arrested the kingpin of interstate gang of auto-lifters and recovered 6 stolen motorcycles stolen from various parts of Delhi and worked out 8 cases of M.V. theft. INCIDENT, TEAM & ARREST :

In order to prevent the incidents of robberies / snatching and road rage, special pickets were installed in the area of PS Vasant Vihar after briefing the staff promptly. A team comprising SI Gajendra Singh, HC Surender, HC Giri Raj, Constables Sandeep, Vijay, Sanjeev and Ravinder under the supervision of Inspr. Anil Sharma, SHO/Vasant Vihar and Mrs. Vijayanta Arya, ACP/Vasnt Vihar was formed to develop information and apprehend auto-lifters active in the area.

The team put in relentless efforts and studied the theft patterns in the areas of Delhi. It was noticed that mostly vehicle thefts incidents are happening in the early morning hours or in the late evening. The efforts of police team bore fruits on 24.05.12 when special drive was launched to check the young boys riding on motorcycle during late evening hours at picket Nelson Mandela. On being asked to stop the vehicle, the rider did not obey the directions, instead tried to run away from the spot. The police team acted swiftly and placed the barricade in front of his motorcycle and compelled him to stop. He also tried to flee from the spot but he was immediately overpowered by the staff. During enquiry, his identity was revealed as Suraj Khan @ Shoaib Khan s/o Abdul Kalam, present address c/o Sadre Alam R/o E-9/C, Chankya Palace, Bindapur, New Delhi and permanent r/o VPO Lallang, District Thoubal, Manipur. The motorcycle recovered from his possession was found stolen from the area of PS South Campus and wanted in case FIR No. 25/12 u/s 379 IPC and the number plate used on the said motorcycle was also found to be a fake one. In this regard, a case vide FIR No. 158/12 u/s 411/482 IPC was registered at PS Vasant Vihar. He is also declared PO in case FIR No. 399/10, PS Vaant Vihar and FIR No. 07/09 PS S.J Enclave.

INTERROGATION & MODUS-OPERANDI :

On sustained interrogation, it revealed that accused belong to North-Eastern States and he along with his co-associates namely Majeed Khan, Saleem Khan, Shoail Khan who are notorious auto lifters / receivers of stolen bikes and having previous criminal history of various motor vehicle thefts. He confessed his involvements in series of auto lifting in Delhi with their other associates. They are fond of high powered racing bikes as they are deeply inspired from the movie ‘Dhoom’ as these bikes highly popular among the youngster. At the instance of accused, 5 more stolen motorcycles were recovered from different places. It also revealed that the accused used to dispose off the stolen motorcycles to North Eastern States through Rail Transport on fake RCs and Identity Proof to the Railway Department. The co- accused persons of accused Majid Khan and Sohail involved in theft cases along with accused are yet to be arrested as they are untraceable.

The further Investigation of the case revealed that accused persons have transported a large numbers of vehicles to North-Eastern stated by way of submitting false document (fake R/Cs, Identity Cards) with Indian Railway. The same aspect is being probed in depth.

PROFILE OF ACCUSED PERSON:

Suraj Khan @ Shoaib Khan @ Yahiya Khan @ Shahib Khan S/o AdbulKalam did his graduation from Manipur. After that he got married with Akobi Begum and has three children. He came to Delhi around 3 years back with his family and stayed in Maharani Bagh area in Delhi and started working with Group-4 Security as Security Guard. Later, he came in contact with Ayub Khan S/o Allauddin who also belongs to Manipur. Both of them started committing auto theft in Delhi. Previously, he arrested in case FIR No. 7/10 dated 31/01/10 u/s 379 IPC PS SafdarJung Enclave, wherein around 26 stolen vehicles were recovered. He was also involved in flashing a forged Indian Air Force Identity Card and was arrested in PS Kotla Mubarkpur on 25th January, in the current year.
