FUNCTION: Working with Quality and Clinical Operations to conduct needs assessment, design instruction, create participant and instructor materials, and deliver training. Evaluate training effectiveness, identify trends and incorporate feedback. Work with Clinical Operations (CHHA, Hospice, LHCSA) with on- boarding, precepting, scheduling and other supports.

REPORTS TO: Director of Performance Improvement and Clinical Education

RELATIONSHIPS: Administrative Team, Department Managers, PHV staff, Trainers, Support staff, and affiliating agencies.

HOURS: 40 Hours, predominately M-F, some evening and weekend hours.

MANAGES/COACHES: Lead Clinical Educator

RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Works collaboratively with Clinical Operations, Quality, Education, Clinical Specialists and Corporate Compliance, to ensure that a comprehensive, standardized education program is provided to all clinical employees.

2. Identify training needs and conduct necessary up-front analysis to measure training impact and results on all levels.

3. Provides instruction and the oversight of clinical instruction on documentation processes and evidence –based care practices that meets agency standards for regulatory compliance.

4. Coordinates and oversees the Clinical Operations preceptor program. Instructs and evaluates all preceptors and reviews their performance as preceptors with Clinical Operations and the Director of Performance Improvement. Recommends and approves all preceptors.

5. Oversee collaboration with Lead Clinical Preceptor and Clinical Operations on the completion of the six- month probationary evaluation

6. Develop evidence-based programs through identification of clinical knowledge and skill deficiencies.

7. Oversee customer responsiveness in education programming and serve in consultation with Lead Clinical Educator as educational consultant and support for activities to influence quality patient care.

8. Demonstrate customer responsiveness in educational programming and serve as educational consultant for activities to influence quality patient care and promote employee growth and development. 9. Responsible for arrangement, supervision and monitoring (preceptor/experience/site) of orientee/trainee/student clinical experiences

10. Oversee the Clinical Ladder Program for the Organization

11. Integrate principles of Adult Learning Principles. Seek training resources and tools to stimulate creative thinking, create meaningful and effective educational experiences, and build expertise and confidence through progressive learning activities.

12. Provide oversight and support to adjunct instructors and other Education Department staff as needed.

13. Demonstrate sophisticated communication skills in interactions with others.

14. Active involvement in agency/community committees/meetings/activities that contribute to continuous improvement, through participation or facilitation.

15. Responsible for the Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) established by the Director.

16. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. NYS license as a Registered Nurse, Physical Therapist, or Occupational Therapist 2. Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree 3. Minimum of three years of organizational/staff development experience. Demonstrated knowledge of instructional design/curriculum development and adult learning methodologies. 4. Minimum of three years of home health care experience with current, comprehensive knowledge of home care preferred 5. Experience in clinical supervisory and preceptorship. Ability to mentor professional staff in Case Management. 6. Clinical expert in assessments, interventions, communication, and documentation. 7. Experience with McKesson preferred. 8. Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and other funding source regulations as applied to home care services. 9. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
