updated 8/18/11 2. Looking back at your 2010-2011 annual plan, how many courses had you planned to assess this year?

2

3. Did those assessments take place? yes

4. If not, what were the major challenges to completing the assessment? How do you plan to address these challenges for future assessment?

5. If so, summarize how the results of completed assessment s are being or will be used to improve student learning.

Assessment results demonstrate that students in JS10/Hebrew 10 are developing the skills necessary to meet our selected SLO. Students who received poor or failing grades explained that they had not put much effort into studying the material prior to the exam. Therefore, we will dedicate at least one class hour prior to each test to review the relevant material. In addition, instructors will assign additional in class writing assignments aimed at testing the basic skills necessary to succeed in this course. A department meeting will be held in which these results will be discussed. In addition, the final version of this report will be emailed to all members of the department. Finally, we will carry on individual conversations about ways in which our courses can be improved to ensure student success. In Hebrew 2 Continuous class review will be conducted. Students are encouraged to study in small groups. Indeed, student led class reviews outside of class instruction do take place before class exams. Share results by e-mail and by phone.

6. How has dialogue among faculty members about assessment results and improvement plans been conducted?

Meeting and e-mail correspondence
