We are offering these lists to Premier and Authorized Sales Assist CICs who are certified on Time Matters. Please email Tim Jarnigan or Maryann Hafner directly with your request at [email protected] or [email protected]. Include a list of states, zip codes or area codes you would like to pursue. In order to be as fair as possible, we will not begin distributing prospect lists until Monday July 13, 2009. This will give each of you the opportunity to contact your customers directly prior to any info being distributed.

Caveats

Unfortunately, LexisNexis does not have a cross-reference of CIC customers. Due to this lack of cross-reference, I expect that several CICs will receive names of customers that are currently being serviced by one of their fellow CICs. I ask that each of you respect this fact and ask the customer if they are currently using a CIC. We have included a script to assist you with addressing this issue with the customer. Remember, the best way to ensure revenue credit for your commission is to make sure that you or the customer enters TEB10 and your CIC information on the order in the web store. v10 Endorsement Training Update:

 PMAC classes are posted and CICs can register at your convenience. The web sessions will be posted once we have a confirmed product release dates. We will notify the CIC community via CIC Weekly when the web sessions have been made available for registration.  Both the PMAC and Web Endorsement Training Classes will be priced at $325.00 per session. Those CICs that have endorsement credits may use them to offset this cost. If you haven’t received your promotion code, please send an email to [email protected]  2008 PMAC attendees and early bird 2009 PMAC registrants are eligible for 1 endorsement credit for each PMAC attendance. Introduce New Community Manager Role:

As many of you have communicated to us, we have a void in the community today from LexisNexis and there is a lot of noise out there, and it isn’t always good noise. We have not been playing in the field and have been silent too long. Loretta Ruppert is taking on a new role that will allow her to engage with you, our users, our industry influencers and our detractors as well. As most of you know, Loretta has been out there not only among you as a CIC, but also working for law firms before her employment with LexisNexis. That experience coupled with her tenure with LexisNexis provides a foundation that will be instrumental on truly representing the whole community.

Some of Loretta’s responsibilities will be to set the priorities, plans, objectives, and strategic vision for the community management function of the organization. She will be the customer advocate and will represent the best interests of the community. Loretta plans to support, coordinate, and facilitate discussion topics between you, customers and employees, as well as collect and represent the needs from the community to LexisNexis. One of the objectives is to go where the customers “hang out” whether online or in private communities and expand our relationships and broaden our community presence.

Getting Started Services:

 While I have received some great positive feedback, there appears to be continued concern and confusion regarding the recently launched LexisNexis Getting Started Services. To address this, I would like to talk through and expand on the email and newsletter communication that have been sent out and then open it up for Q&A.  The objective of introducing Getting Started Services to the market is to encourage more of our customers to utilize implementation services. Through extensive customer surveying, it has been proven that our practice management customers who use implementation services, use their application more productively, need less technical support, and are much more satisfied. It was with this in mind that LexisNexis introduced Getting Started Services.  Getting Started Services are purchased through the LexisNexis sales team or the PM web store and are fulfilled primarily through CICs. This offering is targeted at Time Matters and PCLaw small law firm customers that have traditionally been reluctant to utilize CIC services. It is a low priced services offering ($1,050 for Time Matters, $850 for PCLaw) with a very limited statement of work around installation, configuration, and training.  While our objective is to fulfill these services primarily through CICs, it will be up to the CIC as to whether this type of offering fits your business model and you want to participate in the offering. Our expectation is that this will be an opportunity for CICs to get exposed to customers that otherwise would not have engaged a CIC and could potentially lead to additional work for the CIC.  There were a number of CICs involved in the design of the Getting Started Services and will be involved in piloting the fulfillment of these services. Many of whom will be participating in

6 the pilot. After the process and offering is refined through the pilot, our intent is to open up participation to the entire CIC community.  Timeline – not time dependent, but rather number of engagements specific. We want to execute at least 10 of these GSS contracts to ensure we have the right scope of work, price, hours, and customers are satisfied with the process and work.  A common question is how the work will be distributed. For this we are going to try something new. LN has a reverse auction bid system that it uses with its vendors and we will use this system for CICs to bid on sold GSS contracts. Prior to being allowed to bid, CICs will have to complete some basic training on fulfilling a GSS contract. Once completed, the CIC will be given access to the bid system and will be notified whenever a sale is made and a contract has been posted for bid. CICs will then indicate the price point at which they are willing to do the work and the low cost certified provider will be selected.  Lastly, to ensure quality there will be implementation checkpoints and a post implementation customer satisfaction survey.
