‘SENIOR’ VOLUNTEER TO BE RECOGNIZED AT MSU BOBCATS GAME – SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 25- serve.mt.gov

Helena, MT – The Governor’s Office of Community Service (serve.mt.gov) announced today that Bozeman resident Beverly Barnhart will be recognized as the “Volunteer of the Game” during Saturday’s MSU Bobcats’ home game.

“Montana has a long tradition of neighbor helping neighbor,” said Governor Brian Schweitzer. “We congratulate and thank Beverly for her outstanding public service and lifelong volunteer work in Bozeman and for the state of Montana.”

The Governor’s Office of Community Service is recognizing community volunteers at home games throughout the 2010 Bobcat football season.

Beverly Barnhart has served a decade in the Montana House of Representatives and her volunteer work includes being a former “Retired Senior Volunteer Program” Director in Bozeman, working on women’s initiatives for the Montana AARP and she is currently serving as a member of the Governor’s Advisory Council on Aging. Beverly started volunteering early in her life with Campfire Girls.

“It’s very important to be involved in the community and give back,” said Beverly Barnhart. “My children and grandchildren volunteer now and it’s something I hoped I’ve passed along.”
