Transactions involving the Cash Control Account (CCA) Nominee, Open & Registered Plans
Definition The efficient manner of entering multiple trades within a Self-Directed plan when funds in the CCA are to be used as part of the trade or when multiple transactions are to occur on the CCA.

The original is retained in the branch client file. Purchase form must be printed and placed in client file as well as having accompanying notes entered on EWMS; a client signature is not required. Deposit slip is faxed to DFS Investments Finance Dept (Deposit Fax Number: 1-866-240-4370)
EWMS Process
To Combine a Cheque and Balance in the Cash Control Account for a Purchase Deposit cheque into the cash account of the client’s Nominee plan before entering in purchase.
Step 1 - Enter Deposit Enter the client name or ID to search for client From your EWMS Screen, click on Orders > Deposit The advisor code will auto populate Select the appropriate plan in the “Plan” drop down menu

Client Instruction Date: enter the date the instructions were received from the client Tick the box next to Borrowed Funds if applicable Enter the Transaction Requestor. Enter the Order Method i.e. how the instructions were received – in branch/office Branch to add deposit information under “Source of Funds”: Payable to Desjardins Financial Security Investments Inc. because the cheque is made payable to Desjardins Financial Security Investments Inc. and is being deposited to the cash account. Deposit Type: Choose Client Cheque Deposit if the client has made a personalized cheque payable to Desjardins Financial Security Investments Inc. Currency: Choose CDN (US$ not available) Chq #: Enter the cheque number Amount: Enter the amount of the cheque Press Add
Process the transaction. A successfully completed transaction will provide the order number, and a “Successfully Placed” message, along with summary details of the trade.
Step 2 – Close your Bank Deposit Close your Bank Deposit. For full instructions Bank Deposits Deposits will become available in the CCA approximately 30 minutes after closing your bank deposit

Processing Both a Withdrawal and a Purchase from the Cash Control Account Enter your withdrawal before entering in a purchase.
Step 1 – Enter withdrawal from Cash Control Account From your EWMS Screen, click on Orders > Withdrawal The advisor code will auto populate Select the Plan from which the redemption is being placed. Press Tab on your keyboard
Select Payee and Delivery - options are dependent on the plan type selected Withdrawals from a Registered Plan must select the Detail (appropriate shelter type). Withdrawal General is the most common choice – this will ensure the client received a T4RSP Tax Receipt. Normal Client Payment - If you choose ‘Normal Client Payment’ – it will default to “Cheque to clients address” EFT to client’s bank account – EFT info MUST be completed in ‘Bank Accounts’ under the CLIENT menu, not plan menu (the menu under plans is for FYI only) No Payment Applicable - Leave as available cash in clients account.

Enter the amount of the Withdrawal and click Add Click Process

Important Information When depositing funds into the CCA always close your bank deposit. Funds will only become available after the deposit batch is closed. Please ensure you allow enough time before the cutoff times for the deposit to become available for your purchase. When processing a both a withdrawal and a purchase from the CCA, the withdrawal must be entered in first. Entering in the purchase first will cause the funds in the cash account to become unavailable until after the purchase settlement date.
