Unofficial Regular Meeting of Monday February 2, 2015

Mayor Christopher Jackson called the regular meeting of the Walhalla City Council to order, 7:05 P.M., Monday February 2, 2015 at City Hall. Alderman Present: Steve Gapp, LaRae Horgan, Myrna Styles, Erin Brusseau, and Mike Belanus. Absent: Deirdre Lee Also Present: Brian Mathison, Hope Johnston, Nancy Belanus, and Larry Dubois.

Moved by Horgan to approve minutes of Monday January 5, 2014, second by Brusseau. Ayes: All, Nays: None. Motion carried.

Moved by Belanus to approve the Financial Report as presented, second by Brusseau. Ayes: All, Nays: None. Motion carried.

Brian informed the Council that Electric Pump was called and they have pulled a pump for repair.

City Attorney Lawrence Dubois spoke to the Council regarding the loan the City guaranteed for the Walhalla Economic Development Corporation. Mr. Dubois had met with the officers for the Walhalla Economic Development Corporation and the Walhalla Area Community Foundation. He discussed the results of the meeting with the Council and informed the Council that he had a few more things to check out and will keep them informed. Council will have to decide who is to be the officers on the Corporation. Mr. Dubois also brought to the Mayors attention regarding Mrs. Stremicks’ request to access certain files on the computer. Mayor Jackson replied that Mrs. Stremick has known that she can call the Mayor to set up a day and time.

The Chamber roof is still leaking.

Moved by Belanus to pay all bills presented, second by Styles. Ayes: Gapp, Horgan, Styles, Brusseau, and Belanus. Nays: None. Motion carried.

Changes to the ordinance regarding a Council Member attending meetings by calling into the meeting made by the Council will be written up and the second reading will be at the March meeting when the changes regarding how many meetings can be missed and regarding the conference call.

Moved by Horgan to change out the City’s copy machine on our lease, to save $80.00 per month, second by Belanus. Ayes: Gapp, Horgan, Styles, Brusseau and Belanus. Nays: None. Motion carried.

Mr. Dubois explained the USDA grant that was received regarding the Nature’s Best cooler and vehicle.

Moved by Styles to adjourn the meeting, second by Horgan. Ayes: All, Nays: None. Motion carried.
