1. Company general info Since 1937 when the company was founded, Deere & Company has grown from a one-man blacksmith shop into a corporation that today does business around the world and employs approximately 47,000 people. John Deere consists of three equipment operations (agricultural, commercial & consumer, and construction & forestry), credit operations, and three support operations (parts, power systems and technology services). In 2003 was included in Business Ethics magazine's list of "100 Best Corporate Citizens." The Core Values that were exhibited by its founder and have been long adopted by employees are integrity, quality, commitment and innovation. Marketing: The company markets its products through a worldwide network of independent dealers supported by a decentralized marketing organization with offices in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, England, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, the United States, and Uruguay. Manufacturing: John Deere factories are located in Argentina, Brazil, Canada, China, Finland, France, Germany, India, Mexico, New Zealand, The Netherlands, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, and the United States. Affiliated companies produce John Deere products in the United States and South America. Diversification: John Deere remains committed to its core businesses, yet future growth will also be driven by products and services new to the company. John Deere Credit is among the United States' leading equipment finance and leasing companies. It provides financing of farm and construction equipment, recreational and homeowner consumer products, commercial equipment, and revolving credit financing for agricultural purchases.

2. Products and Services John Deere has four manufacturing divisions:  Agricultural Equipment – John Deere is the world's leading manufacturer of farm equipment. The company is the world's leading manufacturer of forestry equipment and is a major manufacturer of construction equipment in North America.  Commercial and Consumer Equipment – John Deere produces and markets North America's broadest line of lawn and garden tractors, mowers, and other outdoor power products for homeowners and commercial users. In addition, John Deere Landscapes provides irrigation equipment and nursery supplies to landscape-service professionals across the United States.  Power Systems – John Deere Power Systems is a leading producer of off-highway diesel engines, supplying heavy-duty industrial engines and drive train components for John Deere products and original equipment manufacturers. The company also has support operations and services that are crucial to its business success.  Credit – John Deere Credit is one of the largest equipment finance companies in the United States. In addition to providing retail, wholesale and lease financing to customers buying John Deere equipment, John Deere Credit also offers revolving credit and operating loans to help farmers purchase agricultural supplies and other services. In addition to its U.S. locations, John Deere Credit also has offices in Australia, Canada, Europe, Mexico and South America.  Parts – John Deere's worldwide parts division coordinates the distribution and management of parts inventory and materials.
