Freshman: Malibu Details Don’t Miss The Chance Of A Lifetime!
What is Malibu? Malibu is a Young Life camp 100 miles NW of Vancouver, British Columbia on the Princess Louisa Inlet and is accessible only by boat or seaplane. Where is Malibu and how long does it take to get there? We will travel from Bend to Vancouver, British Columbia then we will take the BC Ferry from Horseshoe Bay to Langdale Terminal, then up the Sunshine Coast to Egmont, BC. There we will join with campers from other areas for a three-hour cruise on the Malibu Princess (Young Life’s own passenger boat) to The Malibu Club at the mouth of the world-renowned Princess Louisa Inlet.
What forms & paperwork do I need to have before I can board the bus? 1. Your birth certificate (not a photocopy, you may have to contact the state you were born in and order a new one if all you have is a photocopy of an original). If you were born in Oregon here is the website: https://public.health.oregon.gov/BirthDeathCertificates/Pages/index.aspx) 2. A STATE ISSUED ID (a school ID will not work, sorry!) (so if you are able to get your driving permit by then, do that instead of paying $45 for a state ID, only to pay again for a driver’s permit) 3. As we get closer you will need to fill out the online health form. This is on our website under “Camp: 9th Grade” 4. A hard copy of Authorization to be treated in Canada (on our website) 5. A Border Crossing Consent (also on our website, please put “Kelsey Stiff” as "Supervising Adult")
(If you don't have a driving permit/license, you will need to get a state ID card, which costs $44.50. We know this is an added cost to summer camp, so PLEASE make sure you are taking advantage of all the fundraising opportunites!!!)
