Coming In Activity: Colouring in sheet (see below). Game: Ice Hockey Divide the Joeys into 2 teams and number the Joeys off. Place a chair at either end of the hall (this is the goal). In the middle place 2 hockey sticks (rolled up newspapers) and a block of ice (use an old margarine or ice-cream container, fill with water and freeze). Call out a number, and the appropriate Joey from that team, tries to score a goal.

Game: Igloo Entry Race Joey Scouts are divided into 2 teams. The first Joey runs to the end of the hall, crawls through the 2 chairs (igloo entry) touches the wall and returns the same way. Tags the next Joey and this is repeated until all have had a turn.

Craft: Snowflakes Fold paper into quarters (or smaller), cut out sections and decorate to make snowflakes. No two are the same!

Game: Penguin Waddle to the Water Race Divide the Joeys into teams. Tie up ankles so that they waddle like a penguin. The Joeys then participate in a relay race – waddling to the end of the hall and back.

Game: Iceblock Relay Divide the Joeys into 2 teams. Place a container of ice cubes at one end of the hall. One for each team. At the other end of the hall is an empty container and a spoon for each team. The Joeys have to run to the end of the hall collect an ice cube on the spoon, run back and place it in their team container.

Activity: Make Snow Cones Joeys to help to make snow cones, and then sit down to eat them. Those that are finished can colour in a picture.

Game: Snowball Fight Divide the Joeys up into 2 teams. Use a bench each to make a fort for each team. Give each team a box full of crumpled up paper (snowballs). Leader starts the game by announcing snowball fight. No one is allowed to leave their fort. Joeys try to hit each other with the snowballs.

Back Up Activities Game: Ice Hopping Have icebergs drawn with chalk on the floor. On the signal Joeys jump from one iceberg to the next to get to safety at the other end of the hall. Leaders catch anyone who is not on an iceberg and send them back to the start. (Only one Joey per iceberg!)

Game: Snowball Toss Divide the Joeys into 2 teams. The first Joey runs up to their chalk circle containing 3 paper snowballs. They must throw their snowballs, one at a time into a wastebasket. When all 3 snowballs are in the basket, Joey returns the snowballs to the chalk circle and runs back to tag the next Joey. This is repeated until all the Joeys have had a turn.
