Contour line is that type of line that describes the edge of an object, or the limits of an area of value, texture, color, etc. Modified contour drawings are similar to pure contour drawings in that the artist's hand moves only while he or she is observing an object of study. However, in contrast to blind contour, the artist may periodically suspend the action of drawing to examine the image he or she is creating, thereby limiting the amount of distortion in the final product, which looks like a real life (not animated) coloring book drawing.
