Ball of String  Start with a large ball of string and cut it into enough pieces for all the young people (and adults) in the group. The pieces should be a range of different lengths.  Once you’ve cut the string into pieces, bunch them together into a ball again so that they just about stay together but aren’t tightly tangled.  Get the young people to come up one by one and choose a piece of string from the ball. They then pull that piece of string out of the ball and begin to slowly wrap it around their index finger.  While they are wrapping it round slowly, they should be stating facts about themselves. Some young people will have to talk for quite a while, if they picked a longer piece, while others will hardly have time to say anything!
