October 12th, 2015 USD 306 Board Meeting Summary FCCLA – Members of FCCLA were present and thanked the Board of Education for their support. They also requested permission to attend a conference in Dallas, TX November 20-22, use of 3 district vehicles & fuel. Motion to approve carried 7-0
Hazard Mitigation Plan –Ms. Hannah Stambaugh presented the Board of Education with the updated Saline County Hazard Mitigation Plan for review. Ms. Stambaugh explained advantages to participating in the plan. The Board of Education will review the plan and take action at the November 2015 meeting.
Engineering Services – Chad Lawson of H.W. Lochner, Inc. presented a proposal to the Board of Education for a master plan/study in specific areas of the facility. Approved 7-0
Audit Report – The Board of Education accepted the 2014-2015 budget year audit report. All items on the management letter have been addressed. Approved 7-0
Activity bus – The Board of Education was presented with a proposal for 2 used Activity buses. Mr. Mann will contact the company and ask to have an available bus come to USD 306 for assessment.
Communications: Superintendents Report- Mr. Mann presented the Board of Education with requested research on research concerning optimum class size. Mr. Mann also updated the Board on the KU honors dinner for the top 10% of the Senior class, cooling tower issues, KASB legislative committee recommendations, “working after retirement” for hard to fill positions.
Principals Report: Principals provided information on the parent/teacher conferences butterfly garden cleanup, 1st grade teacher aide, hand, foot & mouth disease, football league champions, fall sports are having good seasons, homecoming & dance, discipline and test scores.

Title IX Non Discrimination Policy Adopted “Branding” USD 306 – At the request of a board member, a discussion on standardizing the logos used for Southeast of Saline was started.
Board of Education Goals—Mr. Mann lead a discussion on the goals the Board of Education set during the work session with Chris Moddelmog.
Executive Session for negotiation occur for 10 minutes.
In open session the Board approved the progressive discipline plan as presented. Carried 7-0
