God S Provision for Healing

LESSON 55 GOD’S PROVISION FOR HEALING God’s promises regarding sickness 

1. GOAL

Church members will recognize the promises of God given to them regarding sickness.

2. INTRODUCTION

Hosea 4:6 says, “my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge....” God’s people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. When they do not know God’s Word and His promise for their lives, it will not do them any good. This is why we should know the promises of God in every area of our lives. Sickness is something we should pray about. It is not God’s will for us to be sick.

3. QUESTION

What are God’s promises that you know of regarding sickness? a.______b.______c.______

4. CONTENT

God gives many promises to His people. Ephesians 1:3 says, “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.”

A. Exodus 15:26 He said, "If you listen carefully to the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the LORD, who heals you."

Copyright © 1996 by New Hope International Church, Seattle God's promises regarding sickness God will allow none of the diseases of the Egyptians (the world) to come upon us if we listen carefully to His voice and do what is right in His sight.

B. Exodus 23:25 Worship the LORD your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you, God promises to bless those who worship and serve Him. He will take away sickness from them.

C. Psalm 103:3, 17-18 who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, 17But from everlasting to everlasting the LORD's love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children's children-- 18with those who keep his covenant and remember to obey his precepts. The Lord promises us that He will forgive all our sins and heal all our diseases if we keep His covenant and remember to obey His precepts. His desire for us is that we might choose His blessing and life (Deuteronmy 30:19).

D. Deuteronomy 30:19-20 This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live 20and that you may love the LORD your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the LORD is your life, and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The conditions for receiving the blessing rather than the curse are: - Love the Lord - Obey His voice - Hold fast to Him.

E. Psalm 91:9-10 If you make the Most High your dwelling-- even the LORD, who is my refuge--10then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. Those who trust in the Lord and make Him their refuge receive these promises from Him: - No evil will befall you - No plague will come near your dwelling. F. Jeremiah 33:6-8 "`Nevertheless, I will bring health and healing to it; I will heal my people and will let them enjoy abundant peace and security. 7I will bring Judah and Israel back from captivity and will rebuild them as they were before. 8I will cleanse

2 them from all the sin they have committed against me and will forgive all their sins of rebellion against me. God promises those who return to Him from a life of sin and disobedience that they will receive health and healing from Him. He will reveal to them an abundance of peace and truth.
