Mjbl Inner City Classic and Black World Series

MJBL INNER CITY CLASSIC AND BLACK WORLD SERIES August 5, 2014 – August 10, 2014 Host City: Richmond, VA

Only registered MJBL teams are eligible to participate in the Inner City Classic (ICC) / Black World Series (BWS)

Congratulations on an outstanding season and welcome to the 2014 Inner City Classic and Black World Series. It will be our goal to create a memorable, fun experience for the players, coaches and families who are participating. The 2014 Inner City Classic and Black World Series will be conducted under a pool play single-elimination championship bracket, as per MJBL baseball rules. Teams will be placed in pools where they will play a round robin within their pool. Teams that qualify will then be placed onto a Championship bracket following pool play. The exact format of the tournament (e.g., number of pools, number of teams in each pool, etc.) will be set by the Tournament Director.

NOTE: Teams should plan to stay for the length of the event, to maximize its value. Teams will be scheduled to play 4 games in pool play and possibly 3 more games if they advance in the playoff bracket (weather permitting). All teams should plan to play through at least Friday afternoon or evenings in the pool play round.

EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION DEADLINE – June 1, 2014 Registration fee is $400.00

STANDARD REGISTRATION DEADLINE – June 28, 2014 Registration fee is $450.00

FINAL REGISTRATION DEADLINE – July 8, 2014 Registration fee is $500.00 Upon completion of registration, you will be sent an electronic copy of the MJBL rule book, MJBL forms packet with instructions, and patches for the team. Patches are to be applied to the upper left sleeve of the uniforms. All teams are required to wear patches. Your complete registration form, official roster and entry fee MUST BE RECEIVED BY JULY 8, 2014 to compete in the 2014 Classic.

HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS: All teams participating in this year’s Classic requested to use one of the MJBL registered hotels. Teams may use alternate hotels, however they will be required to an additional $200 for not using the MJBL registered hotels without written permission from the MJBL Executive Director. Rooms are on a first come, first serve basis.

Note: On the registration form, there will be space for you to identify the hotel and number of rooms your team has reserved.

Additional hotels will be posted on the MJBL website, on the home page. There will be several hotel options in various price ranges. Always ask for the MJBL Classic group rate when contacting the hotels.

Discounted admission tickets to Kings Dominion Amusement Park will be make available to participants. Also, the 2015 MJBL All Star Game participants will be selected by coaches and MJBL personnel from the top players of this year’s Classic.
