Special session of the Minden City Council was called to order by Mayor Zimmerman at 6:00pm on above date. Present: Ploen, T. Schneckloth, J. Schneckloth, McCool, Wellman Absent: none Also attending: Brad Driver, Tim Tieg, Mike Jorgensen, Phil Bintz & Chad Heilig.

Motion by Ploen, second by J. Schneckloth to approve the agenda with the addition of Glenn Hurst building permit approval. M.C. 5-0

The council talked with Snyder & Associates about Minden’s downtown beautification proposal. After the interview with Snyder & Associates the council reviewed both Olmsted & Perry and Snyder’s proposals. Motion by Ploen, second by Wellman to choose Olmsted and Perry to do the downtown beautification engineering. M.C. 5-0

The council reviewed the information Jeremy McDermott supplied regarding the output of his sump pump system. The council is concerned the water discharge is under mining the street. Motion by Ploen, second by J. Schneckloth to have Mayor Zimmerman notify Mr. McDermott the water discharge line on his property must be tied into the cities storm sewer system, the city will pay for 25% of the bid price from JP boring if Mr. McDermott agrees to the project by Friday May 20th and the project must be complete with-in 30 days. M. C. 5-0

Motion by T. Schneckloth, second by McCool to table the Pothole/crack repair to the June meeting.

Chad Heilig from the Minden bowl talked to the council about outdoor seating at the bowling alley. He would like to put up a temporary fence outside of his business to accommodate a couple of tables for dining. Motion by Ploen, second by McCool to allow Chad Heilig to put up a temporary fence in front of the Minden Bowl as long as he left 4’ of walking space. M.C. 5-0

Motion by Wellman, second by T. Schneckloth to approve the building permit for Glenn Hurst at 210 5 th St. M.C. 5-0

Motion by T. Schneckloth, second by McCool for adjournment at 8:15pm. M.C. 5-0
