Sight Plan & Sketch 1. Indicate north point and all abutting roads. 2. Show location of all structures and driveways. Indicate if “new” or “existing”. 3. Show dimensions of proposed structures and other development, expressed in feet. 4. There may be designated setbacks, which vary from one zoning district to another. The property owner is responsible and liable for exact measurements from all lot lines and road right-of-way lines. 5. Show shape and dimensions of your lot. 6. Show any public utility (water, sewer, gas, cable, telephone, electric, etc.) in red. 7. On moving, show present location in black and proposed location in red. 8. On remodeling, show existing walls in black and changes in red. 9. Be specific and detailed in your sketch and in your narrative statement, so the application furnishes a complete picture, in words and drawing, of what you propose to do. 10. Application and drawing must be complete in its entirety and returned before it will be processed and approved. Approved permits will not be given to the applicant until the fees are paid in full.

*Commencing March 1, 2009, most electrical work in the State of Iowa will be subject to an electrical permit and inspection program. Any electrical installation which requires a permit and inspection by the State electrical program, must be performed by an Iowa Licensed Electrician. It is the responsibility of the property owner to obtain the necessary electrical permit. Requests for electrical permits, fee payment, and requests for inspections may be made online at iowaelectrical.gov or by contacting Pat Merrick at 515-988-1718. Any questions you have about electrical permits/inspections should be directed to the Inspector assigned to the area.

Homeowners accept all liability in constructing/expanding any building on the above named lot according to the planning and zoning requirements of the City of Manning. It is the homeowners full responsibility to determine the location of lot lines, or to authorize a survey to determine the location of lot lines. I certify that all work done under this permit shall be in strict conformance with the Municipal Code of the City of Manning, that NO work shall begin until this permit has been granted. I understand that it may take 3 business days to consider and approve/disapprove any building permit. Those who begin prior to receiving a valid building permit will be charged with a municipal infraction and fined $100 for each day the unauthorized construction has been underway. I further certify that the facts and matters as stated herein are true and correct, and that it is understood that if said Permit be granted, it will be subject to compliance with any terms and conditions thereof and with any existing or future laws of the State of Iowa and Ordinances of the City of Manning, Iowa.
