Conference Speaker Application The Oregon Emergency Management Association annual conference draws approximately 175 attendees, comprised of Emergency Managers from state and local governments, non- profit agencies, and the business community. Non-Commercial Nature of Sessions OEMA provides an opportunity for open dialogue and a creative exchange of ideas among participants. Speakers may not endorse brand names or specific products in their presentation. Under no circumstances may this platform be used for direct promotion of a speaker’s product or service. Any presenter who violates this policy jeopardizes their opportunity to present at future OEMA conferences.

Scoring Members of the OEMA Conference Committee will review and score the applications based on:  A complete and accurate application  Quality of submitted presentation materials developed for the OEMA Annual Conference  Compelling presentation “story” that will engage the audience  Speaker experience and qualifications related to the topic

Selection Presentations will be selected by the OEMA Conference Committee. Those selected will be notified by email and will be asked to submit a draft of their presentation no later than 30 days prior to the conference, their formal biography (300-400 words), and their audio- visual requirements.

Financial Support We ask speakers to seek financial support from their organizations. As a non-profit, the Oregon Emergency Management Association Conference does not typically pay honorariums or travel expenses, though they are considered on a case-by-case basis. This helps us keep registration fees low to benefit the widest possible range of participants in the emergency management field.

Speaker Conference Registration

OEMA Conference Speaker Application v1.4 All attendees, including speakers, must register for the conference in order to receive admittance to the event. In appreciation for choosing to speak at the OEMA Annual Conference, if you are selected as a speaker and wish to attend the entire conference, you may register at the discounted speaker rate. If you wish to attend the conference for the full day you are speaking, regular one day rates apply. Speakers that only attend the session in which they are speaking must still register but will not be charged. See the OEMA Conference on-line registration site for more details.
