As youngsters we’re all beginning to think about our futures. My policies will ease transition from teenager to adult or just make Westminster better suited place for youngsters.

Increased Saturday jobs:

I had a Saturday job and it has left me with many important skills, but more importantly it leaves you in a better position for future employment (whether you put it in your CV or gain useful skills).

I will campaign to legally make employment of youngsters easier, and make jobs accessible for people from all backgrounds (set up a website showing all available vacancies in Westminster).

You also earn money and can save up for higher education…or not.

Better financial education:

Recently millennials have been having lessons on how to ‘adult’ i.e paying bills, booking dentist appointments etc. As youngsters we need to learn how to budget, pay taxes (ugh), apply for loans, and there are plenty more. PSHE classes (yes I am aware that no one really pays attention in them), will provide in depth lessons about finance and how to maturely manage your money (not spend money on ‘unnecessary’ items).

I will make lessons better suited to youngsters by making them engaging, and creating a survey for you to complete stating what you’d like to learn.

Harassment in schools:

School is where you should feel safe. Lately there has been a rise in name calling and unwanted touching occurring between boys and girls.

I will campaign to change schools’ policy definitions of ‘harassment’ and try to change mind sets of youngsters (for example, whenever I meet a nice boy I think he’s gay). Most derogatory language used against both boys and girls, is in classrooms. I will campaign to teach teachers to deal with that and accusations. Also harassment could happen to your sisters, brothers and future children outside or in school.

As a young person living in Westminster this is why it’s important we influence matters shaping our society. Thank you for reading my manifesto (if you made it this far) ...and with your vote I promise to make Westminster a better place for youngsters.
