Meeting of the Minds Planning i. We have begun to invite speakers! ii. Suggestions for MOM: marijuana (and synthetics) programming, training for advisors of peer groups, campus SAVE act 1. Send others to Joan c. Quarterly Report Template on website beginning Monday- Part I and II due January 8th i. Start talking about this with your coalition 1. You can likely fill out many sections of Part I and II already! 2. Don’t wait until January to do this and don’t do it by yourself ii. Watch your email for the link to be sent out soon d. Upcoming Briefs and Volume 1 Anthology i. Economics of Prevention just came out ii. Prescription drugs and ALR briefs coming next iii. Anthology is done and being printed (correctly this time!) 1. Copies will be mailed to your campus 2. Let us know if you need more than 2 3. These are great to hand to your administrators iv. Think about who is receiving briefs on your campus 1. We can easily switch people from the paper copy to the electronic copy if preferred (and vice versa) e. Evaluation Update: Evan i. Reminder: Meeting Evaluation available at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/pipmeetingeval ii. Veterans Survey Reminder 1. Survey will be Nov 4th - Nov 17th 2. Evan received everyone’s consent forms! 2. If you haven’t sent Evan word on your campus’ extra questions, do so ASAP f. Suicide Prevention Update: Kimi i. ALR newsletters are changing 1. Will now include data date range 2. Let Kimi know if your ALR contact has changed so they may start receiving newsletters ii. We are currently out of notepads. They are on backorder so you will receive those soon. iii. ALR success stories 1. S&T – Increased ALR use by promoting in Student Health 101 E-Magazine, promoting on student announcement page, using peer educators to incorporate messages and giveaways at all existing events, and sending a campus wide email from S&T chancellor on World Suicide Prevention Day asking students to take ALR. 2. SLU – Increased ALR use by partnering with Residential Life (mandating that all RAs complete ALR as part of their training), email from the Dean of Students asking division staff to complete ALR, and International office staff asked to complete and encourage students to complete. g. Heartland Summit registration- 2 scholarships per campus i. Hosted by UMKC ii. If you need more than 2 scholarships, make a good case to Joan and she will consider it. 1. Scholarships are $$ in addition to your regular PIP funds 2. Regular PIP funds can be used for other associated expenses from the summit h. Resources in Development for Members i. Tutorials and Frequently Asked Questions ii. Let us know if you have requests for anything else i. Upcoming PIP Meetings i. November: Social Norms Marketing ii.
