Elon University Chapter NATIONAL ORDER OF OMEGA Membership Application Form
The Order of Omega was founded at Miami University (Ohio) in 1959 by a group of Greek leaders who felt that individuals in the Greek community should be recognized for their service to the fraternity system and the university. Each spring Elon University’s Order of Omega chapter initiates three percent of the Greek population or 15 members, which ever is greater.
Requirements for Membership Scholastic performance, class status, and leadership achievements determine membership in The Order of Omega. Candidates for membership must: 1. Have a cumulative grade point average at or above the all-Greek average; 2. Have demonstrated commitment and leadership within their chapter and on campus; 3. Have Junior, Senior, Graduate, or Alumni status; and 4. Be in good standing with their fraternal organization.

IV. SELECTION PROCESS The selection process for Order of Omega is based on the above criteria. The Order of Omega Executive Board and Greek Advisers will assign points for leadership and participation, i.e. Chapter presidency three points, chapter event coordinator two points, event participant one point. Application will be read blind (without names) to insure fairness.
