NOTORIOUS AUTOLIFTERS NABBED The staff of Police Post Hari Nagar, West District has arrested a notorious auto lifter namely Taranjot Singh @ Chiku@ Nittu and recovered 04 motorcycles stolen from different Police Stations i.e. Hari Nagar, Nihal Vihar, Dabri and Bindapur. He was a proclaimed offender in case FIR No.32/12 u/s 379/411 IPC PS Punjabi Bagh.

NAME AND PROFILE OF ACCUSED PERSONS

1. Taranjot Singh @ Chiku@ Nittu S/o Sh. Manmohan Singh R/o M-67, Shyam Nagar, Vishnu Garden, Delhi, age- 40 years.

RECOVERY MADE:

1. Motorcycle Hero Honda Glamour No.DL-9S C 8949. (FIR No.635/14 u/s 379 IPC P.S. Hari Hagar. 2. Motorcycle Hero Honda CBZ No.DL-13 SA 1716. (FIR No.226/14 u/s 379 IPC P.S. Nihal Vihar. 3. Motorcycle TVS Star Red colour No. DL-12 SA 2756. (FIR No. /14 u/s 379 IPC P.S. Palam Village. 4. Motorcycle Hero Honda Passion No.DL- 4S NB 0118. (FIR No. 442/14 u/s 379 IPC P.S. Bindapur).

INFORMATION/OPERATION

Information was received to I/C P.P Hari Nagar, SI Manoj Kumar, that one Taranjot Singh @ Chiku @ Nittu is actively committing motor vehicle thefts in the area of West district and other parts of Delhi. On this information, sources were deployed and information was collected about him. It was further revealed that Taranjot Singh is unemployed and has previously been arrested and convicted. He is a drug addict and took to auto lifting in order to meet his expenses. He normally targets motorcycles which are easy to steal and can easily be disposed off. On 10/07/2014, a specific information was received that Taranjot Singh will come with a stolen Hero Honda Glamour motorcycle at 6-6.30 PM, on road from Hari Nagar Ghanta Ghar to Mayapuri, Delhi. On this information, a raiding party under the supervision of Insp. Bhaskar Sharma, SHO/Hari Nagar and SI Manoj Kumar comprising HC Om Prakash, HC Shashi Kumar, Ct. Narender, Ct. Sanjay and Ct. Kulbeer and overall supervision of Sh. Samay Singh, ACP/Tilak Nagar was constituted and deployed on main road from Hari Nagar to Mayapuri, in front of Narayani Mandir, Hari Nagar, Delhi. At about 6.15 PM, one person came on a Motor cycle No. DL-9S-T-8949 Hero Honda Glamour black colour. He was apprehended by the police party.

On interrogation, the motorcycle was found to be stolen from P.S. Hari Nagar, Delhi. He was arrested in the case u/s 379/411 IPC. On further interrogation, he disclosed that he is involved in several incidents of auto lifting. On his disclosure and pointing out three more motorcycles stolen from the areas of P.S. Nihal Vihar, Palam Village and Bindapur were recovered.

INTERROGATION & MODUS OPERANDI

During interrogation, Taranjot Singh @ Nittu @ Chiku disclosed that he belongs to a very reputed family and is a graduate from a reputed University in Delhi. He came in contact of antisocial elements. He started taking drugs. Initially, he incurred the expenses from his pocket money but he was unable to overcome the expenses. He did love marriage in the year 1994 but due to his addiction his wife left him. Thereafter, he entered in to the world of crime and started doing petty thefts. He used to target motorcycles which is in good condition and parked at lonely places or busy marriage places/Banquet Halls. Taranjot Singh is an expert in starting motorcycle without key. He used to sell 2-3 motorcycles in a month and earn handsome amount for drugs. He was arrested and convicted in cases of snatching in the year 2006. Efforts are being made to recover more stolen bikes.

Staff involved in the good work is being rewarded suitably.

HOAX CALLER ARRESTED With the arrest of one Pankaj, aged about 22 years r/o Nabi Karim, Delhi, Central District police has solved a mystery of hoax call of robbery in the area of P.S. Kamla Market, Delhi.

INCIDENT AND TEAM

On 09.07.2014, a PCR call regarding robbery received in P.S. Kamla Market that three boys caused injuries to a person and snatched his money. On receipt of this information, SHO/Kamla Market along with staff reached the spot where the complainant namely Pankaj r/o District-Basti, (U.P.) was found present. He stated that he is employed with G.R. Agency, 5014, Rui Walan, Sadar Bazar, Delhi for the last 6/7 months. He had collected Rs.1,85,000/- from Delta Engineering and Parasnath Traders Shah Ganj, Delhi on the direction of his employer. When he was at G.B. Road, then three boys came there, caused injuries to him and snatched his blue colour bag containing Rs.1,85,000/- from his possession. As per the statement of the complainant, a case vide FIR No.187/14 u/s 394/34 IPC was registered at Police Station Kamla Market and the investigation was taken up.

A team consisting of Inspr. Yashveer Singh, SHO/Kamla Market, S.I. Ramesh, H.C.Anil and Ct. Ashok was constituted under the close supervision of Sh. S.S. Ballabh, ACP/Kamla Market, Delhi.

INVESTIGATION

During the course of investigation, the injuries allegedly caused by the robbers to the complainant were found suspicious. The local enquiry at and around the spot also raised the suspicion. The complainant was interviewed at length and during the course of investigation he broke down and accepted that the money has been misappropriated by him itself and the same is kept in his house and he had made a hoax call to mislead his employer and the police. Immediately a raid was conducted at the house of the complainant and Rs.1,85,000/- were recovered by the police team. He was subsequently arrested in the case u/s 408/411 IPC. During the course, it has also been surfaced that no verification has been got conducted by the owners of GR Agencies of him by police.

Further investigation/Interrogation is in progress.

Cash Rs. 1,85,000/-
