Welcome back to Ryan High School! I look forward to having your child in my class. My goal is to make math a positive, fun, challenging and interactive experience. Your child’s success is very important to me, so I encourage you to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Grading Tutorials 60% Major Summative Monday and Wednesday 40% Minor Summative 4:15 pm to 5:15 pm

Thursdays by appointment and for retakes ONLY 4:15pm to 5:15pm

Tardies Expectations & Procedures 1st Tardy = Warning Show all work 2nd Tardy = Parent Contact Do your best 3rd Tardy = Parent Conference/AP contact Respect each other 4th Tardy = Office Referral Respect your classroom (Tardy count renews each quarter.) Be punctual, be prepared, and be proactive Class time is valuable, use passing periods wisely.

Absences Retake Policy If you are absent, you will be responsible In order to retake a test you must: for making up lessons, notes and make-up assignments.  Correct your test during tutorials  Complete or correct all previous assignments including classwork and homework **Retakes must be taken within 10 days of receiving the graded test or quiz. Technology

We will assign a graphing calculator to each student during class. You will not damage, misuse or remove the batteries from the calculator. Other forms of technology provided to you must also not be damaged or misused. Be sure to inspect the condition of the device upon receipt and before returning the item. Immediately notify me if a calculator is damaged or has been misused. Technology is a tool, not a toy. Inappropriate use of technology will result in confiscation and loss of privilege.

Resources

Each student will receive a consumable book. I will keep these books in my classroom at all times and will allow students to tear out pages whenever they have homework from the given section. Along with these resources, students will be able to access the book online. I will pass this information on to the students later. I will post notes, tips and other helpful resources throughout the year on Google Classroom. You can access the Geometry Google Classroom using the code: 4m4c9nr.

Assignments

I take minor grades on a regular basis. These are typically in class assignments, after the student has had time to practice a few similar problems on their own and we have gone over them. These grades also includes activities and normal quizzes. I expect students to put forth their best effort on all assignments and always show work. Students will lose some credit for problems that have no work shown. This page must be completed and returned to Coach Terry ASAP.

It is understood that a calculator will be provided for class use for your child and he/she will be expected to not damage or remove the batteries from the calculator.
