Dear Parent/Caregiver

Each year, as part of the Religious Education programme, the students attend a day retreat. The junior retreats take place at the Shri Ram Mandir Community Centre in Brick Street, Henderson. The Year 10 Retreat is organised and led by the DRS (Director of Religious Studies) and Religious Education Department from St Dominic’s Catholic College. Two staff members from the College accompany each group.

The students will have the opportunity to take part in sessions reflecting on the theme: “At the Crossroads”. The classes will attend as follows:

MONDAY 20 November 10SE, Mrs Rodrigues TUESDAY 21 November 10HR, Mr Girdwood WEDNESDAY 22 November 10DL, Miss Kim THURSDAY 23 November 10AC, Mrs Rodrigues

The Community Centre is a short walk from the College and the students leave with their teachers at 8.50am to return by 3.10pm. Umbrellas will be provided if necessary. The students must take morning tea and a packed lunch as there will be no opportunity to buy food during the day. There will be an opportunity for a hot drink at morning tea and lunchtime. Out of respect for our hosts we ask the students to bring a vegetarian lunch that day. The students are not expected to wear their uniform on retreat days but need sensible clothing in which they can be active.

The cost of the Retreat is $30.00, which is subsidised by the College. For the Year 10 Retreat in 2017 the cost will be included in the accounts issued in Term 1.
