Oracle® PartnerNetwork Kicks Off Partners’ Week at Oracle OpenWorld 2008 Global OPN Forum Event Showcases Partner Opportunities for Growth and Profitability

ORACLE OPENWORLD 2008, CA – September 22, 2008 News Facts  The Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN) Forum kicked off the week for partners attending Oracle® OpenWorld 2008 in San Francisco on Sunday. More than 1500 partners from around the globe gathered to hear about expanded opportunities for business growth and profitability from top Oracle executives and network with other partners.  Charles Phillips, President, Oracle opened the event, welcoming partners and emphasizing the importance of partners to Oracle’s ecosystem and Oracle investment to facilitate partners’ success.  Safra Catz, President, Oracle joined the event in the afternoon, thanking partners for their contributions to the Oracle ecosystem and outlining the broad opportunities for them based on Oracle’s growing product line.  Guest speaker, Robert DeMarzo, vice president and editor, Everything Channel delivered the guest keynote, providing insight into the future of partnering in our industry.  Providing the Oracle keynote address was Judson Althoff, group vice president, Worldwide Alliances & Channels, who thanked partners for their contributions, provided highlights from last year and shared the company’s new partner enablement strategy.  Partners also listened to an panel focused on Partner Enablement featuring Oracle executives: o Mark Keever, Group Vice President, Accelerators.Oracle.Com o John Gawkowski, Vice President, Platform Technology Solutions o Mark Johnson, Vice President, Accelerate Applications Marketing& Business Development o Joel Borellis, Vice President, Partner Enablement o These executives highlighted specific strategies to help partners broaden their business with Oracle and provided an update on enhanced systems to help facilitate interactions.  Following this, a panel featuring regional alliances and channels executives shared best practices and top priorities for specific geographies. The following regional executives joined the panel: o Ted Bereswill, Senior Vice President, North America Alliances & Channels o Bronwyn Hastings, Senior Vice President, APAC Alliances & Channels o Stein Surlien, Vice President, EMEA Alliances & Channels o Sandra Vaz, Vice President, Latin America Alliances & Channels  Afternoon breakout sessions provided specific content addressing priorities for the Asia Pacific (APAC), Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Latin America (LAD), and North America (NAS) regions. Additionally there were sessions held with specific information for the Communications industry and Global Value- Added Distributors (VADs).  The program wrapped up with the North America OPN Titan Awards  Additionally, Oracle acknowledged partner excellence globally.
