THE GENERAL MANAGER OPPORTUNITY AT MASHOMACK PRESERVE CLUB

The General Manager position at Mashomack provides a unique opportunity to lead a close knit team at a world class Club in the heart of Hudson Valley New York. Mashomack is seeking a GM who demonstrates a natural leadership style while promoting a culture focused on providing a consistently exceptional membership experience.

MASHOMACK PRESERVE CLUB & COMMUNITY

Mashomack Fish & Game Preserve Club is a 1,900-acre private sporting preserve and social club located in Dutchess County, New York, in the town of Pine Plains. Dutchess County is in southeastern New York, between the Hudson River and the New York–Connecticut border, and about halfway between Albany and New York City. The county has an abundance of natural scenic beauty, outdoor recreation, historic landmarks, restaurants, festivals, and more.

Founded in 1964 on Shelter Island by Daniel Daly and David Thieringer, the Club relocated to northern Dutchess County in 1979. Today, Mashomack’s members own and operate the Club, and the Club’s Board of Governors has begun the process of conserving Mashomack’s property under permanent easement. In 2008, the Club preserved and protected forever more than 1,650 acres by conservation easement to the Dutchess Land Conservancy. This was the largest and most substantial conservation easement ever given to the DLC, creating a contiguous protected area of more than 4,300 acres, connecting land preserved by National Audubon, The Nature Conservancy, the State of New York, and other land protected by the DLC.

Mashomack‘s 400 members and their guests enjoy a variety of sporting activities centered around shooting and sporting clays, overseen by Shooting Manager Tyler Olay. They also engage in fishing, polo, tennis, and swimming. The Club provides dining and lodging facilities, which are located in a cluster of buildings anchored by the main Clubhouse, an 1800s Greek Revival “early transitional” building overlooking picturesque Halcyon Lake. The Club’s ambiance is charming, casual, and intimate.

The Clubhouse will soon be undergoing a $750,000 renovation of the bar area and entrance. This capital project is intended to enhance the overall food and beverage experience at the club to better reflect the clubs commitment to creating a “must have” dining experience for its members.

The Club has very high standards of service and hospitality. These standards are maintained because the staff works as a close knit and enthusiastic, professional team dedicated to providing the best possible service to and facilities for Mashomack members.
