Bayshore Association, Inc. Board of Directors Meeting Minutes

Tuesday October 11th, 2016

Board Members present: Jean and Gordon Powers, Kraemer, Cannin, Miller, Weathers, and Bischof

The Chairperson called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m. and distributed the agenda.

The Bayshore By-Laws, Article 2 was read to the Board: “The purpose of the corporation is to lessen the burdens of government by attempting to alleviate community tensions, discrimination, deterioration, juvenile delinquency, and other community problems through education, counseling, social functions, and community projects.”

President Powers made the opening statement. Secretaries Report: The minutes of the September meeting were accepted as written. Treasurer’s Report: The treasurer’s report on the association’s finances was distributed. The ending account balance was $23,284.57. Committee Reports:  Lakeside Park: 1. The Clemson Boy Scout troop and leaders (Vic Shelburne, Tom Overcamp, Bill Eister and Hoke Hill) are replacing the crossties at the lake pavilion after the procurement of materials. 2. Powers began procuring materials for the crosstie replacement project. He obtained the following quotes: GBS Building supply in Anderson has 16’timbers for $150ea. (13ea.=$1950) Home Depot (Seneca) can special order 8”x8”x8’ for $70ea. (25ea.=$1750) Yoder’s can order 8”x8”x 8’ for $77.50 ea. (25ea.=$1937.50) Lowes can special order 8”x8”x16’ for $106.25ea. (13ea.=$1381.25) 3. The board voted to order from Lowes. They also agreed to the procurement of rods to stake the timber, sand or quarry dust for bedding and fill dirt. 4. Larry Kraemer has volunteered to be the board’s overseer on the crossties project for questions or concerns. 5. Powers asked the board to submit names of Landscape Contractor(s) for the lawn maintenance of the Tennis Park and Pavilion. The contract will be sent to the board members for review before requesting bids. 6. Theresa Cannin asked the board members to obtain quotations from each of their respective insurance agents for the Bayshore Association policy to see if there is a better price on an insurance premium.

1 7. The board voted on allowing Michael’s Tree Service to cut down the dead oak tree on the Corps property near the ravine. Powers will ask the Corp. for permission.  Tennis Park: 1. The board agreed to cut down every other towering Leyland Cypress tree around the tennis park for the prevention of Leyland tree disease and the choking out of the Crepe Myrtles.  Website 1. Jean Powers reminded the board of The Corinth-Shiloh annual fundraising bake sale, Saturday, October 15th (Clemson Homecoming Game) at the 7/11 store on Highway 123 and Old Clemson Highway.
