They were married and 29 blessed with ten children; and 30 31 Whereas, Mr. Murray loved to have fun and laugh, and loved 32 singing and volunteering as Lane’s Taxi Cab Driver. He enjoyed 33 people and making them laugh. He was a lifelong farmer and a 34 caretaker of Venture Plantation. He provided for his family and 35 was a very respectable man with a big heart; and 36 37 Whereas, Mr. Murray was a faithful member of Bethel AME 38 Church where he diligently worked as an usher and class leader. 39 He received several awards, including Lane’s Town Man of the 40 Year and Bethel AME Father of the Year; and 41

[1207] 2 1 Whereas, he was predeceased by three daughters, Helen Murray, 2 Lillian Murray, and Emma Ann McKnight. He leaves behind his 3 loving and devoted wife, Pearl F. Murray; children, Alex Murray, 4 Sr., Nancy (Wilkie) Robinson, John Henry (Hazel) Murray, 5 Thomas (Rose) Murray, all of Lane, South Carolina; Joseph 6 (Diane) Murray of Greeleyville, South Carolina; Carol (Friend 7 Robert) Sabb of Florence, South Carolina; and John (Shanae) 8 Murray of Charlotte, North Carolina; a sister, Eliza McCutchen; 9 sistersinlaw, Georgia Mae Felder, Ella Felder; a brotherinlaw, 10 Mancy (Carlis) Felder; a soninlaw, Lucius McKnight; thirty 11 grandchildren; fiftyseven greatgrandchildren; twentytwo great 12 greatgrandchildren; a special caregiver, Yvonne Burns; and a host 13 of other relatives and friends. He will be greatly missed. Now, 14 therefore, 15 16 Be it resolved by the Senate: 17 18 That the members of the Senate, by this resolution, express their 19 profound sorrow upon the death of Alridge Murray of Lane, and 20 extend the deepest sympathy to his family and many friends. 21 22 Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to 23 the family of Mr. Alridge Murray. 24 XX 25
