Second Preparatory Meeting of the XIX Inter-American Conference of Ministers of Labor - IACML

1. Overview

Objective: To negotiate the draft Declaration and Plan of Action of the XIX IACML, consider the Final Reports of the Working Groups, and polish the Work Schedule and other preparatory business for the XIX IACML. In order to facilitate the negotiation process of the draft Declaration and draft Plan of Action, the Technical Secretary has opened a Virtual Forum (http://rialnetportal.org/forum) through which Ministries of Labor and IACML consultative bodies will be able to post comments on the texts. Participants: Representatives from the Ministries of Labor of the OAS Member States, Permanent Missions to the OAS of Member States, representatives of workers and employers grouped in COSATE and CEATAL, representatives from international organizations relevant to the IACML process and other special guests. 2. Logistics and Travel Information

Registration: Participants must fill out the Registration Form enclosed in this bulletin and send it to the IACML Technical Secretariat, as indicated. Funding: Delegates are responsible for covering their travel expenses and lodging. The OAS and the Government of Mexico are exploring options to offer financial support to some participants. Lodging: Each participant is responsible for booking a room in the hotel of his or her preference. We recommend that you make your reservation as soon as possible, since it will be a busy period with meetings in Washington, D.C.
