Over the years, the ASUCD Bylaws became littered with confusing language and no 20longer practiced Bylaws. In order to create a better functioning set of rules for the entire association it is 21necessary to work together to better accommodate Bylaws no longer practiced. 22 23Section 1. The ASUCD Senate hereby creates the Super-Secret Bylaw Special Committee, which shall 24adhere to the following plan: 25 26Special Committee 27 28Structure 29The Special Committee will be composed of seven (7) voting members: the Chairperson of the Internal 30Affairs Commission (who will serve as Chairperson of the Special Committee), two (2) other Internal 31Affairs Commission members (to be voted by the Internal Affairs Commission, two (2) ASUCD Senators 32(to be voted on by the ASUCD Senate), the ASUCD Vice President or designee, and one (1) ASUCD Court 33Justice. In the event a position becomes vacant from a body which membership is required in this bill that 34body shall select another individual to the special committee. The Super-Secret Bylaw Special Committee 35will meet regularly at the discretion of the Chairperson. All meetings will be open to the public and will be 36announced at the ASUCD Senate meeting one week prior to the scheduled meeting date. 37 38Objective 39The objective of the Special Committee will be to review the ASUCD Bylaws and find all sections that 40contain spelling errors, grammatical errors, formatting errors, unclear text, and out-of-date Bylaws. The 41committee will author a Senate Bill correcting these errors in the ASUCD Bylaws. In the event unclear 42texts are discovered, Internal Affairs Commission shall author separate Senate Bills to address each 43recommended correction. The Chairperson of the Special Committee will give a thorough report of all 44content alterations to the ASUCD Senate before the consideration of implementing it into the ASUCD 45Bylaws. 3Senate Bill #53 4Page 2

46 47Termination 48Once a bill to enact all changes to the ASUCD Bylaws has been approved by the ASUCD Senate and signed 49by the ASUCD President, the Special Committee will immediately be terminated. However, if a bill to 50implement changes is not introduced to the ASUCD Senate by the final Senate meeting of spring quarter 512012, the committee will be terminated. Thus, a bill recreating the Special Committee will need to be 52approved by the ASUCD Senate for the members of the committee to continue work past that date. 53 54 55Finance: No Appropriation: None Vote: Majority
