What's Happening

Welcome Visitors: Welcome to those who are visiting with us today. Please take a moment and fill out the welcome card located in the pew or under the chairs and then drop it in the offering plate. Children's bulletins are located at the back of the sanctuary for kids to pick up.

Feel free to pick up a missions offering envelope from the back table and place in the offering plate at any time.

Offering for 9-17-17...... $3069.00 “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.” Malachi 3:10

Lynnville Friends Bountiful Garden: Thanks to all who have contributed. We will continue through September. Simply drop off your bounty during the week or on Friday morning to be shared with the community

A man camp will also be held at Camp Quaker Heights on October 6-8. For more information or to register for either camp visit the Camp Quaker Heights website at: www.campquakerheights.org.

The September church newsletter was emailed out. Copies are located on the table at the back of the sanctuary if you did not receive one.

Welcome Mayer Laurelle! There is a baby basket located in the fellowship hall for little Mayer Laurelle McDonald. Feel free to leave a card or gift welcoming her to our church family!

Tickets are on sale now for Big Church Night Out which will be held on Saturday, December 9 at the McElroy Auditorium in Waterloo. Newsboys, Sidewalk Prophets, 7eventh Time Down and many more will be performing. For more information or for tickets go to bigchurchnightout.com.

Come and "Bee" Inspired at the Iowa USFW Fall Retreat to be held on Saturday, October 7 from 10:00-2:30 at the Middle River Friends Church in Carlisle. Registration begins at 9:30. Registrations forms can be found in the box right outside the church office.

Are you interested in being a part of what we do at Hope Ministries in Des Moines? Julie Jones will be leading the service on September 28. If you feel led to be a part of this ministry that evening then please let the office know or talk to Julie. Nursery Schedule: Slight changes have been made to the original nursery schedule that was sent out. The nursery schedule for each month will be emailed out to those that are on for that month. You can also find the schedule in the monthly newsletter.

FOCUS Wednesday, September 27, at 6:30 p.m. Because of various homecoming activities, 6th-12th grade will meet at the football field bleachers for a community-wide youth group. There will be a devotion followed by the powderpuff game.

Inspiring Football! Aaron Thomas will be speaking at Central College H.S. Kuyper Fieldhouse on Wednesday, Oct. 4 at 7 p.m. 6th-12th grade will meet at the church at 6:15 p.m. We plan to be back by 9 p.m. About the event: After the citizens of Parkersburg, Iowa, survived an F-5 tornado that nearly destroyed their entire town, they were stunned by the murder of their beloved football coach, Ed Thomas, at the hands of a former player. What happened next in this incredible true story provides a lesson in grace and forgiveness that inspired the country. Here it from Coach Thomas’ son, Aaron Thomas.

FALL PARTY What: Hayrack Ride & Bonfire When: Sunday, October 8; 4:30-8:30 p.m. Where: Schnell timber. Meet at the church. Who: 6th-12th grade Food: Hot dogs & smores @ the bonfire. ?’s: Call Jer at 780-9972. Warm clothes, old shoes, flash light In case of bad weather, we will reschedule to October 22. If the weather is questionable, Jer will send out a text/facebook notice.

TEC 65 is being held at Lynnville Friends Church on November 17-19. Students can go through that are entering their sophomore year through the summer following their senior year. Applications can be found at www.centraliowatec.com or on the Central Iowa Teens Encounter Christ facebook page.
