The LPKF booth will be showcasing new developments of the TwinWeld 09.04.2018 hybrid welding system. A new high-performance welding head and a com- pact housing are the stand out features of the new series. In hybrid weld- ing, the laser beam is surrounded by a thermal field. This enlarges the LPKF Laser & Electronics AG process window, increases the welding speed, and no longer needs to be LaserWelding Division followed by a tempering process. “Instead of complex clamping tools, this Gundstr. 15 D-91056 Erlangen method requires only the use of an inexpensive component holder. The LPKF LQ-Vario RT has a low-maintenance laser source and a rotary indexing table. An optional double clamping device is a low cost addition which delivers even higher part output.

Laser staking with the LPKF LQ-Spot involves welding a laser-transparent rivet head on a housing dome. The rivet head can be used to fix any kind of component – even printed circuit boards. The rivet head does not melt into the tool zone during laser staking.
