Initial Machine Troubleshooting Lab

Upon completion of this exercise the student will be able to measure the inputs and outputs of an automated machine and determine what they do.

The student will identify the components of a power supply of an automated machine correctly the first time.

This lab is worth 66 points

The situation. You have been asked to resurrect an old off-line tester. Basically, it has sat in storage for a zillion years and now there is real heated interest in getting this machine up and running again. Does this sound familiar? Your job, is to complete the following tasks.

PRELIMINARY WORK

Create a table on any spreadsheet of your choice that has a list of all inputs and outputs of the PLC on this offline tester. You can set up the sheet any way you want but it must be clear, legible and easy to understand. (15pts)

Create an order of operations that you think this tester may do. Remember it may not work, yet, but the goal is to get it operational. PROCESS

Identify, the power supply system and pneumatic inputs. Verify machine is ready to be pulled in and pneumatic power added. ______instructor signature (2 pts)

Energize the system and verify machine is on and in rest state. Note: be careful, you are not sure as to what extent the machine is in. It might have been cannibalized. ______(2 pts)
