ROWE, Va. – Velma Lowe Grizzle, 77 years of age, passed away Monday, Feb. 12, 2007, at her home following an extended illness. Born in Pike County, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Prill and Mellie Spears Lowe. She was a resident of Buchanan County most of her life and was a member of Rowe Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and was a wonderful homemaker.

Mrs. Grizzle is survived by her husband, J.B. Grizzle of Rowe; one daughter, Carol and husband Larry Meadows, Rowe; one son, Jimmy Grizzle, Rowe; two brothers, Dallard and wife Jean Lowe, Abingdon, and Hallard and wife Audrey Lowe, Abingdon; one granddaughter, Sheene and husband Justin Davidson, Abingdon; and one great-granddaughter, Tea Davidson, Abingdon.

She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Latasha Meadows; one sister, Rosle Sykes; two brothers, Virgil Lowe and Victor Lowe. Funeral services for Velma Lowe Grizzle will be conducted Thursday, Feb. 15, 2007, at 11 a.m. at the Rowe Pentecostal Holiness Church, Rowe, with the Rev. Willard Grizzle and the Rev. Ancil Childress officiating, with burial to follow in the Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, Va. Services will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel. The body of Mrs. Grizzle will be moved to the Rowe Pentecostal Holiness Church, Rowe, Thursday at 10 a.m. to await the funeral hour at 11 a.m. Active pallbearers will be family and friends.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Kabaria and nurses and the nursing staff of Clinch Valley Medical Center. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.grundyfuneralhome.com.
