PEASENHALL PARISH COUNCIL MEETING – 21ST JUNE 2001 MINUTES.

1. The chairman, Kenneth Parry Brown, welcomed councillors Norman Ball, Andrew Meredith-Davies, Frank Potter, Archie Poulter, and Colin Hann [who signed the declaration of acceptance of office]. The clerk, Caroline Cardwell, was in attendance. Apologies were received from Nicholas Levett- Scrivener and Peter Dance. 2. Election of vice-chairman for coming year – it was agreed that Colin Hann should be vice- chairman, and he signed accordingly. 3. Playing Field Assn. – parish council representative – deferred. 4. Sub-committees and sub-groups –  Cemetery – work discussed; Kenneth Parry Brown, Colin Hann, Archie Poulter and Frank Potter appointed.  Planning – chairman, vice-chairman and any two councillors.  Finance – chairman, vice-chairman, Frank Potter and Andrew Meredith-Davies  Highways – deferred  Sub-groups – as needed, Archie Poulter to supervise 5. Declarations of interest – none 6. Vacancies – two outstanding 7. Public Forum – none 8. Minutes of previous meeting [18-05-11] signed as a true record. 9. Matters arising – cemetery gates still being repaired; repair of footbridge discussed. 10. Finances – balances as follows – c/acct. £9,397.57; sav/acct - £7,079.17; cheques approved as follows: no.100346 to Heelis and Lodge for £55.00 [audit]; no. 100347 to Essex and Suffolk Water for £11.58 [annual fee for cemetery meter]; no. 100348 to SALC for £206.00 [annual sub]; nos. 349 and 350 approved at May meeting; no. 100351 to C. Cardwell £86.87 [expenses]; no. 100352 to Peasenhall Assembly Hall for £20.00 [hire of hall]; no.100353 to Kenneth Parry Brown for £19.76 [wine etc for parish meeting]; no. 100354 to Peasenhall Post Office for £185.84 [notice board]. Clerk asked to write and express thanks for work done. Allocation of reserve funds – future use in addition to Sports Fund monies is planned, 11. Planning – C/11/1188 – 7 Church St. – pitch roof replacement supported; C/11/1316 – housing at Sibton: renewal of permission noted. 12. Correspondence – received and discussed 13. Any other business  Training – clerk to inquire if Badingham scheme would be accessible to Peasenhall councillors; clerk to research course for chairman  STOs and Code of Conduct – clerk to send copies to councillors  Dates of future meetings – clerk to send to councillors  Maps of parish available at next meeting  Rendham Rd. – councillors discussed the position of the Peasenhall sign, and noted that the sign had been provided with money available under the QLS. The position was agreed with SCC Highways, with the full consent of the parish council; councillors expressed their thanks to Kenneth Parry Brown for all his work in meeting with Highways personnel; the clerk has been asked to write to SCC Highways and ask for a 30mph sign on Rendham Rd to combine with the village name.  Hedges – councillors noted that the Ancient House hedge had been trimmed back and were informed that the Tennis Court hedge would be attended to shortly. 14. Next meeting – Tuesday 26th July Methodist Church Hall, 7.30pm The meeting closed at 9pm.
