STATE OF GOING : STRATHAYR TURF (SHORT COURSE C) (GOOD)

POLYTRACK (GOOD)

RACE 1 [TF1244] CLASS 5 POLYTRACK 1200M DIVISION 1

After arriving at the barrier, ANY RUMOUR (N Juglall) had its saddle readjusted.

AMERICAN SNIPER (App S Shafrizal) was slow to begin.

GOLDEN MILE (M Rodd) and LUCKY BOY (I Azhar) bumped on jumping.

Shortly after the start, GOLDEN MILE, which was bumped outwards by LUCKY BOY, had to be eased when racing tight to the inside of DELFYNE (App T See), which shifted inwards slightly. App T See was subsequently shown the film of the incident and warned to exercise greater care when shifting ground in future.

Approaching the 800m, RED RIDING WOOD (G Boss) checked when racing to the inside of PHIDIAS (R Woodworth) and AURORA AUSTRALIS (D David). An Inquiry into this incident will be held at a date to be fixed.

Approaching the 700m, TRIGGER MAN (M Nunes) checked when racing between DELFYNE and AURORA AUSTRALIS. An Inquiry into this incident will be held at a date to be fixed.

FLYING SHADOW (S John) and LUCKY BOY were both unable to secure a clear run over the final 200m.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on GOLDEN MILE which revealed no apparent abnormality.

1 RACE 2 [TF1245] RESTRICTED MAIDEN POLYTRACK 1100M WEIGHT FOR AGE (2 & 3 YEARS OLD)

LIM'S RHYTHM (App R Zawari) was slow to begin.

NOVA STORM (R Shafiq) and MAKE U FAMOUS (App CK Ng) bumped on jumping.

FILIBUSTER (M Nunes), which jumped inwards at the start inconveniencing ULTIMATE KILLER (App WS Chan), then shifted inwards making contact with HARVEYWALLBANGER (M Rodd).

SATTAR (O Chavez) jumped away awkwardly.

Shortly after passing the 1000m, HARVEYWALLBANGER got its head up after being eased when racing tight between SATTAR and ULTIMATE KILLER. HARVEYWALLBANGER continued to prove difficult to settle until passing the 700m.

SATTAR and ULTIMATE KILLER both raced wide throughout.

NOVA STORM was inclined to lay inwards in the straight placing its rider at a disadvantage.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on SATTAR which revealed no apparent abnormality.

RACE 3 [TF1246] CLASS 4 POLYTRACK 1100M

NOVA WARRIOR (M Zaki) and HAYTHAM (O Chavez) both began awkwardly.

Shortly after the start, SILENT ARROW (App S Shafrizal) was carried inwards by HOST THE NATION (R Woodworth), which shifted inwards after being brushed by MASTERMIND (App CC Wong), which was laying inwards.

BELLUS WONDER (S John), which raced wide throughout, laid outwards between the 800m and the 300m.

2 RACE 4 [TF1247] MAIDEN SC (C) 1400M

Trainer D Koh was fined a sum of S$50 in terms of MRA Rule 65(5)(c) for failing to produce the correct colours on HIGH STREET (App CC Wong).

ENERGIZER (A Munro) jumped away awkwardly.

NORTHERN SUN (App T See) was slow to begin.

Passing the 1200m, SAHABA (App S Noh) and GRAND CANYON (O Placais) both checked when racing to the outside of PARAGON STAR (R Woodworth) and HIGH STREET and to the inside of NEW SENSATION (App H Syafiq). GANGNAM CLASSIC (G Boss), which was following, was also inconvenienced in this incident. An Inquiry into this incident will be held at a date to be fixed.

Thereafter, GRAND CANYON raced ungenerously for some distance between HIGH STREET and SAHABA.

Approaching the 700m, HIGH STREET eased when awkwardly placed on the heels of PARAGON STAR.

Passing the 700m, Jockey Munro, the rider of ENERGIZER, became dislodged when racing to the outside of NATURAL WATER (TH Koh), GANGNAM CLASSIC and DISCRETELY RED (R Shafiq). An Inquiry into this incident will be held at a date to be fixed.

Whilst Stewards were of the opinion that it had not affected the placings, App T See, the rider of NORTHERN SUN, was reminded of his obligations to ride his mount out fully to the end of the race.

NATURAL WATER, which raced poorly, will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

RACE 5 [TF1248] CLASS 5 POLYTRACK 1200M

DIVISION 2

After arriving at the barrier, PERFECT CHALLENGER (S John) had its saddle readjusted.

PERFECT CHALLENGER was slow to begin.

FAST JET (E Aslam), which was slow to begin, was inconvenienced shortly after the start by PURE WHITE (M Zaki), which was carried inwards by YOURSTOKEEP (M Rodd).

3 SMIDDY BYRNE (J Powell) and DRAGON RUBY (O Placais) bumped on jumping.

Approximately 50m after the start, KASHAN (O Chavez) had to be steadied off the heels of TOOBIGTOFAIL (A Munro) after being carried inwards by MILLION ROUND (I Saifudin), which shifted inwards and away from SMIDDY BYRNE.

KASHAN and PURE WHITE were both difficult to settle in the early stages.

SMIDDY BYRNE, DRAGON RUBY and SILENT CONNECTION (C Grylls) all raced wide throughout.

Approaching the 200m, FAST JET changed course outwards after being held up for clear running.

Jockey John reported that PERFECT CHALLENGER was not striding out freely. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed that the horse returned as a roarer. The Veterinary Surgeon also advised that PERFECT CHALLENGER had previously undergone corrective surgery for this condition.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on KASHAN which revealed no apparent abnormality.

RACE 6 [TF1249] KRANJI STAKES C SC (C) 1600M

MR SCORSESE (J Powell) was slow to begin after jumping away awkwardly.

BLACK THUNDER (M Zaki) was slow to begin.

Approaching the 1100m, MURRAYFIELD (App CC Wong) was bumped by JUSTICE FAIR (A Munro), which in turn was being buffeted by EN CIVIL (I Azhar) when racing tight to the inside of GOLAZO (D David). Jockey David was subsequently shown the film of the incident and warned to exercise greater care when shifting ground in future.

EN CIVIL raced wide from the 700m.

Jockey N Juglall reported that BANDIDO was not striding out freely. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormality.

4 RACE 7 [TF1250] OPEN BENCHMARK 83 POLYTRACK 1100M

ECLAIR CHOICE (App R Zawari) jumped awkwardly inwards and bumped CONSTANT JUSTICE (M Nunes).

Shortly after the start, SUPER SIX (O Placais) shifted inwards and bumped RED DAWN (M Kellady) in onto the hindquarters of POLE PARADISE (D David). At the same time, LASER STORM (App N Zyrul) eased when momentarily crowded between PIONEER SEVEN (A Munro) and GRAND CROSS (G Boss), which shifted outwards slightly.

MIGHTY CONQUEROR (C Grylls) raced wide throughout.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on MIGHTY CONQUEROR which revealed no apparent abnormality.

RACE 8 [TF1251] CLASS 4 SC (C) 1400M

LORD OF CLOUD (R Woodworth) lost ground after beginning awkwardly.

LAUGHING BUFFALO (App I Amirul) was slow to begin.

HUMDINGER (N Juglall) jumped awkwardly outwards and bumped MASURAO (D David).

MASURAO mis-strode on a couple of occasions approaching the 800m.

BROTHER WIND (A Munro) and HUMDINGER both raced wide throughout.

Near the 250m, Jockey K A'Isisuhairi, the rider of TRIGAMY, dropped his off- side rein which he regained shortly thereafter.

Approaching the 50m, LORD OF CLOUD eased to avoid the heels of MILLENNIUM'S RULE (App CC Wong), which rolled inwards.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on LORD OF CLOUD which revealed that the horse returned not striding out freely.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on MASURAO which revealed no apparent abnormality.

REPORT FOLLOWING A STABLE INSPECTION AT THE SPELLING STATION SITUATED AT BLOCK 402 AT THE SINGAPORE TURF CLUB ON MONDAY, 29 MAY 2017

After considering further submissions from Trainer J O'Hara regarding the supply of bedding at the Stables, the fine of S$2,000 imposed for negligence in terms of MRA Rules of Racing 152(5)(a) in that he failed to ensure that the bedding was sufficient for the following horses was rescinded:

(1) GOLDEN BRILLIANT (N344); (2) BIG CITY (R308); (3) GOT LUCK (N63); and (4) NOVA ACE (W2)

SINGAPORE JULY MEETING 2017 FRIDAY, 14 JULY 2017

RACE 3 [TF0886]

On Friday, 06 October 2017, the Stewards concluded an Inquiry into the reasons for NO SMOKING JEFF (App S Shafrizal) having to check when racing to the inside of LUCKY JUSTICE (E Aslam) and YULONG HOLY PRAISE (S John) near the 700m. It was established that near the 700m, NO SMOKING JEFF was checked when crowded by LUCKY JUSTICE, which was carried inwards by YULONG HOLY PRAISE, which laid inwards, when being steadied off the heels of SOUTHERN MAN (A Munro), which eased after improving onto the heels of LUCKY GIANT (App CC Wong). In the circumstances, no blame could be attributed to any rider and as such, no further action was taken.

SINGAPORE JULY MEETING 2017 SUNDAY, 16 JULY 2017

RACE 8 [TF0910]

At the conclusion of an Inquiry on Tuesday, 03 October 2017, Jockey M Kellady, the rider of LONGHU, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding LONGHU in Race 8 at the Singapore Turf Club Meeting on Sunday, 16 July 2017, near the 1200m, he permitted his mount to shift inwards, when insufficiently clear, resulting in LIFE IS GAMBLE (R Woodworth) having to be checked. When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record, guilty plea, the degree of interference and carelessness and submissions from Jockey Kellady that he has been engaged to ride at the Singapore Race Meetings on Friday, 06 October 2017 and Sunday, 08 October 2017. The Stewards determined to suspend his licence to ride in races and acting under MRA Rule 48(5), the commencement of the suspension was deferred to begin on Monday, 09 October 2017 until Sunday, 15 October 2017 both dates inclusive (two Singapore Race Days). He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

RACE 7 [TF0968]

On Friday, 06 October 2017, the Stewards concluded an Inquiry into the reasons for GROUND CONTROL (M Nunes) having to check when crowded between ETTIJAH (O Chavez) and GOLD HILL (App I Amirul) approaching the 300m. It was established that approaching the 300m, GROUND CONTROL was carried outwards by ETTIJAH. Shortly thereafter, GROUND CONTROL had to be checked when crowded between ETTIJAH, which rolled outwards when giving ground and GOLD HILL (App I Amirul), which shifted inwards abruptly under pressure. GOLD FAITH, which was following, was inconvenienced in consequence. In the circumstances, no blame could be attributed to any rider and as such, no further action was taken.

SINGAPORE AUGUST MEETING 2017 SUNDAY, 06 AUGUST 2017

RACE 8 [TF0995]

At the conclusion of an Inquiry on Tuesday, 03 October 2017, Jockey V Duric, the rider of QUECHUA, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding QUECHUA in Race 8 at the Singapore Turf Club Meeting on Sunday, 06 August 2017, approaching the 300m, whilst riding his mount along, he allowed it to shift inwards, thereby crowding TIME ODYSSEY (B Vorster) and contributing to it having to be checked. When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record, guilty plea and the degree of interference and carelessness. Jockey Duric was suspended from riding in races with immediate effect from Tuesday, 03 October 2017 to Sunday, 08 October 2017 both dates inclusive (two Singapore Race Days) and was advised of his Right of Appeal.

RACE 8 [TF0995]

At the conclusion of an Inquiry on Tuesday, 03 October 2017, Jockey C Grylls, the rider of WAR AFFAIR, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding WAR AFFAIR in Race 8 at the Singapore Turf Club Meeting on Sunday, 06 August 2017, near the 300m, whilst riding his mount along, he allowed it to shift outwards, thereby crowding TIME ODYSSEY (B Vorster) and contributing to it having to be checked. When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record, guilty plea, the degree of interference and carelessness and submissions from Jockey Grylls that he has been engaged to ride at the Singapore Race Meetings on Friday, 06 October 2017 and Sunday, 08 October 2017. The Stewards determined to suspend his licence to ride in races and acting under MRA Rule 48(5), the commencement of the suspension was deferred to begin on Monday, 09 October 2017 until Sunday, 15 October 2017 both dates inclusive (two Singapore Race Days). He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

RACE 2 [TF1018]

On Tuesday, 03 October 2017, the Stewards concluded an Inquiry into the reasons for SHAMROCK (V Duric) having to check when racing to the inside of MOKASTAR (N Juglall) approaching the 500m. It was established that approaching the 500m, SHAMROCK, which was racing greenly, was racing tight to the inside of MOKASTAR. Shortly after, MOKASTAR rolled inwards with SHAMROCK being eased and losing ground after becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of MOKASTAR. In the circumstances, no blame could be attributed to any rider and as such, no further action was taken. However, Jockey Juglall was warned and advised that he must exercise greater care when shifting ground in future.

SINGAPORE AUGUST MEETING 2017 SUNDAY, 27 AUGUST 2017

RACE 10 [TF1096]

At the conclusion of an Inquiry on Monday, 02 October 2017, App H Syafiq, the rider of WINTERFELL, in the presence of his Master, Trainer S Baerstchiger, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding WINTERFELL in Race 10 at the Singapore Turf Club Meeting on Sunday, 27 August 2017, approaching the 200m, he permitted his mount to shift outwards, when insufficiently clear, resulting in EL CAMINO (V Duric) having to be checked. When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record, guilty plea, the degree of interference and carelessness and submissions from App H Syafiq that he has been engaged to ride at the Singapore Race Meetings on Friday, 06 October 2017 and Sunday, 08 October 2017. The Stewards determined to suspend his licence to ride in races and acting under MRA Rule 48(5), the commencement of the suspension was deferred to begin on Monday, 09 October 2017 until Sunday, 15 October 2017 both dates inclusive (two Singapore Race Days). He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

On Thursday, 05 October 2017, the Stewards concluded an Inquiry into the reasons for ELITE GOLD (D David) having to check when racing to the inside of ON ELECTRIC AVENUE (App H Syafiq), DECRETO (I Azhar) and EURO ZONE (B Vorster) near the 700m. It was established that near the 700m, ELITE GOLD was crowded between AMAZING MAN (M Zaki), which rolled outwards and ON ELECTRIC AVENUE, which was carried inwards slightly by EURO ZONE. In the circumstances, no blame could be attributed to any rider and as such, no further action was taken.

RACE 6 [TF1122]

At the conclusion of an Inquiry on Friday, 06 October 2017, Jockey I Saifudin, the rider of MILLION ROUND, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding MILLION ROUND in Race 6 at the Singapore Turf Club Meeting on Friday, 08 September 2017, near the 300m, he allowed his mount to shift outwards into the rightful running of CAVATINA (App I Amirul), thereby contributing to BOHEMIAN (O Chavez) having to check. When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record, guilty plea, the degree of interference and carelessness and submissions from Jockey Saifudin that he has been engaged to ride at the Singapore Race Meetings on Friday, 13 October 2017 and Sunday, 15 October 2017. The Stewards determined to suspend his licence to ride in races and acting under MRA Rule 48(5), the commencement of the suspension was deferred to begin on Monday, 16 October 2017 until Sunday, 22 October 2017 both dates inclusive (two Singapore Race Days). He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

SINGAPORE SEPTEMBER MEETING 2017 SUNDAY, 10 SEPTEMBER 2017

RACE 3 [TF1128]

On Thursday, 05 October 2017, the Stewards concluded an Inquiry into the reasons for CAI POH WANG (O Placais) having to check when racing between ACE HARBOUR (N Juglall) and YU LONG EMPEROR (R Woodworth) passing the 200m. It was established that approaching the 200m, CAI PONG WANG was crowded between ACE HARBOUR, which shifted inwards slightly under pressure and YU LONG EMPEROR, which rolled outwards slightly. In the circumstances, no blame could be attributed to any rider and as such, no further action was taken.

11 POST RACE URINE/BLOOD: FRIDAY SINGAPORE 15 SEPTEMBER MEETING 2017

24 coded urine and 24 coded blood post race samples from the above- mentioned race meeting were received for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations.

No prohibited substances were detected.

RACE 3 [TF1150]

At the conclusion of an Inquiry on Monday, 02 October 2017, Jockey S John, the rider of XIONG FONG, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding XIONG FONG in Race 3 at the Singapore Turf Club Meeting on Friday, 15 September 2017, shortly after passing the 300m, he allowed his mount to shift outwards, when insufficiently clear, resulting in RAINBOW ROYAL (O Placais) having to be checked. When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record, guilty plea, the degree of interference and carelessness and submissions from Jockey John that he has been engaged to ride at the Singapore Race Meetings on Friday, 06 October 2017 and Sunday, 08 October 2017. The Stewards determined to suspend his licence to ride in races and acting under MRA Rule 48(5), the commencement of the suspension was deferred to begin on Monday, 09 October 2017 until Sunday, 15 October 2017 both dates inclusive (two Singapore Race Days). He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

RACE 3 [TF1150]

On Friday, 06 October 2017, the Stewards concluded an Inquiry into the reasons for SUPER BALL (TH Koh) being buffeted between WONDERFUL KNIGHT (R Woodworth) and XIONG FONG (S John) near the 250m. It was established that near the 250m, SUPER BALL lost ground after being buffeted between WONDERFUL KNIGHT, which rolled inwards slightly and XIONG FONG, which laid outwards under pressure, away from HALO BRIGHT (App N Zyrul). In the circumstances, no blame could be attributed to any rider and as such, no further action was taken.

30 coded urine and 30 coded blood post race samples from the above- mentioned race meeting were received for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations.

No prohibited substances were detected.

SNTC TRIAL : THURSDAY, 21 SEPTEMBER 2017

After considering further submissions from Trainer S Baertschiger regarding two starting stall tests imposed on CHOCANTE (B Vorster) on Thursday, 21 September 2017, one of the tests was rescinded.

2 coded urine post race Jockey's samples from the above-mentioned race meeting were received for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations.

No prohibited substances were detected.

SINGAPORE SEPTEMBER MEETING 2017 FRIDAY, 29 SEPTEMBER 2017:

RACE 1 [T1207]

On Wednesday, 04 October 2017, the Veterinary Surgeon reported that TOP NOTE (S John) returned lame near-fore. TOP NOTE will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

SINGAPORE OCTOBER MEETING 2017 SUNDAY, 01 OCTOBER 2017:

RACE 4 [TF1237]

On Wednesday, 04 October 2017, the Veterinary Surgeon reported that RICH FORTUNE (O Placais) returned lame near-fore. RICH FORTUNE will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

13 REPORT FROM THE HEAD VETERINARY SURGEON ON MONDAY, 02 OCTOBER 2017 THAT KIRKS RYKER (W379) FROM TRAINER R LE GRANGE’S STABLES HAD NOT BEEN VACCINATED AS REQUIRED IN TERMS OF MRA REGULATION 20.1

Trainer R Le Grange was fined a sum of S$1,000 under MRA Regulation 20.6 by failing to ensure that the Vaccinations were current for KIRKS RYKER (W379) as required under MRA Regulation 20.1.

SNTC TRIAL : THURSDAY, 05 OCTOBER 2017

SCOUT DONE (R46), which was fractious in the barrier, became cast and was withdrawn, will be required to pass one starting stall test prior to being declared to race again in terms of MRA Rule 78(2).

SNTC TRIAL : THURSDAY, 05 OCTOBER 2017

TAUROS (E305), which was fractious in the barrier, reared high, broke through the front gate, galloped riderless before being recaptured and was reloaded, will be required to pass one starting stall test prior to being declared to race again in terms of MRA Rule 78(2).
