Anatomy and Physiology Term Project/Assignment Alan

During the term you will be required to complete one of the following assignments. The more work required with the assignment, the more people allowed to participate. My first choice is to let everyone pick which project to complete, but if there is difficulty in choosing, I will assign them randomly.

When thinking about your choice, pick the one that you feel you will excel at. You need to pick the one that suits and interests you. Additionally, you need to pay attention to the schedule of units below so that you are prepared.

Course Outline: Each unit will last approximately 1-2 weeks. Unit 1: Introduction to Anatomy Unit 2a: Integumentary System (mini teach) Unit 2b: Skeletal System Unit 3: Muscular System Unit 4a: Lymphatic System (mini teach) Unit 4b: Circulatory System Unit 5: Respiratory System Unit 6a: Digestive System Unit 6b: Excretory System (mini teach) Unit 7a: Nervous System Unit 7b: Endocrine System (mini teach) Unit 8: Mink Dissection

Option 1: Mini-teach-completed in groups of 3 With this assignment you will be designing a lesson to teach the class. This must be a 45-50 minute lesson in which you give a PowerPoint lecture, have small lab or demo for the class, and give a five-question quiz that you have written. The following four units are available for the mini-teach: -Integumentary -Lymphatic/Immune -Excretory -Endocrine

Option 2: Hands-On Activity-completed in pairs With this assignment you will design and run a hands-on activity to compliment one of our units. It must be interactive and an effective way to teach the concept. You must also include typed up directions and a materials list. The following units are available for the Hands-On Activity:

-Skeletal System -Respiratory System -Muscular System -Digestive System -Circulatory System -Nervous System

Option 3: Model Building-completed individually With this assignment you will be building models of organs that are discussed with the various systems we cover in class. With each organ you must also have a typed information sheet to accompany it, and you will need to present the organs and information to the class.

-Skeletal System -Respiratory System -Muscular System -Digestive System -Circulatory System -Nervous System
