1. Welcome and Introductions Jacqui welcomed everyone to the meeting and everyone introduced themselves.
2. Notes of the last meeting on 21st March 2012 These were agreed as a true record.
Cllr Pru Chandler should have been recorded as attending.
Jacqui formally recorded her thanks to Cllr Debbie Mason for taking up the Vice Chair role.
Some information included in the previous minutes were identified as potential areas of interest for future network meetings:
Increasing use of IT for members
Lincolnshire Pilot Mentoring Scheme being undertaken prior to 2013 elections
Community Leadership Awards progress from authorities/cllrs that have undertaken these.
Getting members involved in the delivery of training/sharing of knowledge
3. Evaluation – A mini Masterclass David McGrath from Link UK Ltd facilitated a mini masterclass on evaluating member development which focused on; defining evaluation, exploring member development programme design, individual seminar/workshop design and included practical tips and techniques to embed a culture of evaluation.
David to e-mail all interested attendees a copy of his member development David evaluation toolkit.
4. Any other Business Chas Leslie advised of the update in language to the political skills framework (PSF) and also the information sheets for ward councillors about funding streams to support local community activity. Links to both are here:
Also available is the revised Ashridge Learning Resource which can now be searched against the PSF skills sets so it is more accessible to councillors. Registration is required but it’s free and easy to do so. Once signed in the link will appear on the page. See link below.

Lisa Butterfill advised of the next event in the programme of knowledge briefing events on 10th July focusing on the Role of Local Government in Public Health.
Sue requested a plain English guide to council meeting procedures eg, motions and amendments. Lindsey offered to share information.
Lindsey advised the network of their desire to re-design their evaluation sheet and welcomed examples from others. See attached
Cllr Patrick suggested that hearing stories/case studies of success in member All to send to Lisa development would also be useful. Jacqui advised that this would continue with Butterfill. our next network meeting.
The format and content of the next network meeting was discussed. Themed discussion tables were suggested and if anyone would like to suggest a question or topic area to explore and share experiences please let Lisa All to advise Lisa know.
