Applicant’s Consent and Certification
Instructions All applicants for positions at ATSILS are asked to sign that they have read and understood the following statement and that they give their consent to use and disclose their personal information for the purposes of recruitment and selection.
Consent In accordance with Commonwealth Privacy and Human Rights legislation, ATSILS is committed to ensuring the confidentiality and security of applicants’ personal information. The information supplied during the recruitment and selection process will be used solely for the purposes of assessing suitability for employment. In order to assist ATSILS in the assessment of the application it may be necessary for ATSILS to disclose personal information to certain third parties such as internal managers, referees etc., or educational institutions, and as may be required by law (eg. Child Protection matters). ATSILS will only disclose personal information to third parties for this purpose. ATSILS may provide statistics only, on its employment practices for the purposes of equity and diversity as part of its obligations through its funder, the Australian Attorney-General’s Department and ATSILS employer obligations under the Commonwealth Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace Act 1999 and subsequent Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012.
ATSILS has a policy of retaining information relating to all applicants for a period of six (6) months after the selection process for the position has been completed. During this period if another position for which an applicant be suitable arises, ATSILS may use the filed information in considering a former applicant’s suitability for a position. ATSILS may place the application in a recruitment pool for future vacancies. If ATSILS does place an application in a pool, the applicant/s will be so notified.
In addition, ATSILS will, in accordance with requirements under the Corporations Act, seek information in relation to any applicant’s past performance and employment history. Therefore, reference checks with previous employer s, Working with Children & Young People checks, Criminal Record History checks, bankruptcy checks, if applicabl e, and educational qualifications checks, if applicable, will be carried out prior to any offer of employment and/or during the probationary period of employment.
