DAY 1: ARRIVE CHRISTCHURCH (S) FRIDAY 08 MARCH 2013 Welcome to Christchurch! Our Kirra Holidays Representative will greet you at the airport with transportation waiting to transfer you to your hotel. This evening enjoy a ‘Welcome dinner’ with your fellow travellers.

DAY 2: CHRISTCHURCH / TEKAPO (B,L,D) SATURDAY 09 MARCH 2013 Enjoy a Christchurch city sights tour before crossing the broad Canterbury Plains. - John and Melissa Jebson, Flockton Stud, Sheffield. Morning tea. - Mark and Jenny MacDonald Milking Shorthorns Methven. Lunch Continue onto Tekapo to view the Church of the Good Shepherd and the Collie Dog memorial overlooking the milky blue waters of Lake Tekapo. This evening board the bus for the trip up to the summit of Mt John — home of the most southerly permanent optical observatory in the world. Allow our astronomy guides to help you navigate the southern night sky outdoors using green laser pointers. Experience the thrill of peering through powerful telescopes and binoculars to see amazing sights, both near and far. You can also enjoy your complimentary hot chocolate in our warm and candle-lit Astro Café. When stars are hidden from sight by cloud, let us take you on journey to discover the nocturnal world of an astronomer. See behind the scenes of Mt John Observatory, usually out-of-bounds to the general public. Nowhere else can you experience what you see and hear on our Mt John Stargazing Tour, so let us help you explore the wonder and mystery of space!

DAY 3: TEKAPO / QUEENSTOWN (B,L,D) SUNDAY 10 MARCH 2013 This morning we visit Bill Sutherland Benmore Station near Twizel. This is a commercial high country property that has developed large areas of land with centre pivot irrigation in a low rain fall area. They are buying weaner calves including shorthorns and fattening them to export weights. We then travel through the Lindas Pass to Northburn Station or Bendigo Station on route to Queenstown, for some wine tasting and view for yourself the amalgamation of stock farming and viticulture. Then it’s on through to roaring Kawarau Gorge where we can see gold mining relics of the boom many years ago, before arriving into the popular resort of Queenstown. Dinner tonight is at the Skyline Restaurant, where both the dining and the views are unsurpassed.

DAY 4: QUEENSTOWN (B) MONDAY 11 MARCH 2013 A day at leisure to enjoy the sights, sounds and activities of Queenstown. Your Coach Captain will happily assist with details. Dinner this evening at own arrangements.

DAY 5: QUEENSTOWN / TE ANAU (B, L, D) TUESDAY 12 MARCH 2013 - John and Lindy Dobson, Brigadoon Stud, Winton. Lunch - Chris Brown and Jackie Gilkilson, Weldon Shorthorns, Mossburn. Afternoon Tea Arriving into Te Anau for Dinner

Page 1 of 3 DAY 6: TE ANAU / INVERCARGILL (B, L, D) WEDNESDAY 13 MARCH 2013 Cruise across the waters of Lake Manapouri. On arrival at West Arm, coaches transport passengers into the Underground Power Station. View the tunnel, rock formation and machine hall including displays on the viewing platform which detail construction of the project and how the power station works. Visit Mt Linton Station, Ohai, Southland, were Ceri Lewis will report on our Crossbreeding Trail viewing Shorthorn Angus Cross Steers and heifers on this vast Beef and Sheep station. Continue to Invercargill, Southlands only city and home to a display of fine Victorian architecture.

DAY 7: INVERCARGILL / HERIOT / OAMARU (B,L,D) THURSDAY 14 MARCH 2013 On leaving Invercargill this morning visit David, Paul and Isabel Murphy Milking Shorthorns. Morning Tea - Fraser Fletcher Glendu Shorthorns Lunch The scenery gives way to rolling hills as you approach Dunedin, the “Edinburgh of the South. See bush clad hillsides, tidal estuaries and a rocky coastline, view the unusual Moeraki Boulders and then onto Oamaru.

DAY 8: OAMARU / KAIKOURA (B,L,D) FRIDAY 15 MARCH 2013 Travel through the historic wonders of Oamaru and the coastal town of Timaru, across the braided Rakaia Rivera and through the mixed cropping and sheep grazing holdings of the vast Canterbury Plain. Travel through Christchurch, across Canterbury farmland to the Hundalee Ranges. Follow the Pacific coastline, with the Kaikoura mountains forming a rugged backdrop to the west, passing tiny holiday settlements and Kaikoura, famous for whale-watching.

DAY 9: KAIKOURA / PICTON / WELLINGTON (B) SATURDAY 16 MARCH 2013 This morning free to enjoy a whale watching tour or swim with the dolphins (optional). Lunch at own expense. Travel onto Blenheim and visit Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre which houses a display like no other and you don’t have to be an aviation buff to enjoy it. Continue to Picton nestled on the shores of the Marlborough Sounds, to board the Interislander ferry. Sail through picturesque Queen Charlotte Sound, sheltered waterways, remote bays and isolated holiday homes. Across Cook Strait and into Wellington Harbour for spectacular views of New Zealand’s Capital City. Dinner at own expense on the ferry.

DAY 10: WELLINGTON / MASTERTON (B,D) SUNDAY 17 MARCH 2013 This morning free to visit Te Papa, the “Museum of New Zealand” or Parliament or just some shopping before having lunch at own expense. Leave Wellington 1pm and travel over the Rimutaka Hill to David and Pip Blackwood Hinewaka Shorthorns Masterton. Dinner will be at Blackwoods before re retire to Masterton for the night

DAY 11: MASTERTON / NAPIER (B,L,D) MONDAY 18 MARCH 2013 Visit the Tui Brewery in Mangatainoka for a tour and tasting. -Timothy Plummer Tahuna Shorthorns and Jim Trish and Nick Syme Hiwiroa Shorthorns for lunch Visit Hohepa Homes Dairy Farm and Organic cheese factory Travel onto the world famous wine area of the Hawkes Bay and Napier, claimed to be the world’s art deco capital. This evening enjoy dinner at the renowned restaurant at Mission Estate Winery.

DAY 12: NAPIER / TAUPO / ROTORUA (B,L,D) TUESDAY 19 MARCH 2013 Cross the Central Plateau to Lake Taupo, the largest lake in New Zealand. -On Route visit a Deer Farm Travel on to the mighty Huka Falls where the Waikato River pours through a narrow chasm. For lunch visit Huka Prawn Park and then travel to Rotorua, centre of Maori culture. This evening a memorable Maori cultural experience with the Rainbow Springs Beauty by Night featuring Maori warriors paddling downstream by waka (war canoe), followed by a cultural performance, topped with a succulent Hangi meal, tranquil bush walk, glow worm viewing, and a visit to sacred Fairy Spring.

Page 2 of 3 DAY 13: ROTORUA (B L D) WEDNESDAY 20 MARCH 2013 Travel from Rotorua to Te Aroha. - Ian and RobynDibble Milking Shorthorns at Te Aroha,Lunch - Ken Betty Craig and Maree Morton, Morton Shorthorns Dinner this evening at Mortons. Travel back to Rotorua for overnight accommodation.

DAY 14: ROTORUA //WAITOMO/HAMILTON ( B,L.D) THURSDAY 21 MARCH 2013 Visit Whakarewarewa Thermal village which is set amidst a landscape of erupting geothermal activity, hot thermal springs and hot bubbling mud. Discover the unique lifestyle and traditions of the living Maori village - Russell and Mavis Proffits Raupuha Shorthorns viewing cattle and stud sheep. Lunch At Waitomo, a guide will escort your group underground to the limestone caverns and glowworm grotto. Hamilton for overnight.

DAY 15: HAMILTON / AUCKLAND ( B,D) FRIDAY 22 MARCH 2013 It is a short drive from Hamilton to Ngaruwahia, centre for the region’s Maori people, then alongside the Waikato River before crossing the Bombay hills to reach New Zealand’s largest city – Auckland where on arrival enjoy a city sights tour. - Kelvin Stokes and Barbara Stokes Lochburn Shorthorns Morning Tea - John and Helen Reeves Waimai Shorthorns Lunch Travel to Auckland for dinner at the Observatory Restaurant at Skytower or a rugby game (this is still to be finalised)

DAY 16: AUCKLAND / BAY OF ISLANDS (B,L) SATURDAY 23 MARCH 2013 Cross Auckland’s Harbour Bridge to drive north along the Hibiscus Coast and on to Matakohe and the Kauri museum telling the story of the Kauri tree and the region’s early settlement, the displays are superb and their story fascinating. – - Ody Families Glenrossie Shorthorn lunch Travel on to the beautiful Bay of Islands Evening Free

DAY 17: BAY OF ISLANDS (B,D) SUNDAY 24 MARCH 2013 Today is at leisure to explore the area until 3pm when we will depart from the hotel to visit Shane and Dot Dromgool Longview Shorthorns and Milking Shorthorns. Our evening meal will be with the Dromgools

DAY 18: BAY OF ISLANDS – (B,L,D) MONDAY 25 MARCH 2013 Begin your conference with a Powhiri (Maori welcome) and be welcomed in friendship.
