Samantha Schad is organizing a collection of toys for the Salvation Army to give to children who would not otherwise receive any Christmas presents. If you would like to contribute, please bring items to church no later than Sunday 10 December, and put them on the cupboard by the window in the Lady Chapel. The toys should be new and unwrapped. If you are stuck for ideas they have a suggested gift list, by age: www.salvationarmy.org.uk/christmas-present-appeal

Michèle is glad to hear from anyone who would like to join St. Margaret’s flower rota. If you would like more information, please speak to Michèle who is also happy to give individual help and support to anyone who would like to try but feels that they lack experience or confidence!

The Gatehouse is appealing for donations for Christmas presents for the homeless and vulnerably housed again this year. We hope for new donations of underpants, socks, hats, gloves, scarves and bars of chocolate. The Gatehouse’s community Christmas present wrapping event is due to be held on Wednesday 20 December 11:00am-3:00pm at St Giles Parish Rooms, 10 Woodstock Road, Oxford OX2 6HT. Everyone is welcome, including children (with a responsible adult). Donations can be delivered to the same address between 4:00-7:00pm Monday-Friday and 3:00-6:00pm on Sunday.

St. Margaret’s has now raised over £1000 from Easyfundraising as a result of purchases made by the members of St. Margaret’s who have registered – thank you! This is a painless way to generate funds for St. Margaret’s when you shop online at a wide range of stores, book flights or holidays or purchase services such as insurance - please consider registering. More details from [email protected] or take a flyer from the porch.

We are considering having St Margaret’s as a venue for Art Weeks next May. The idea would be to have a community event, with people showing their artwork – paintings, pottery, knitting, quilt work – whatever they do - on a non-selling basis. If we did this it is possible that one or two professional artists would join as “add ons” to be main event, and they would make their work available for sale.

Is anyone interested in being part of the community event? The idea is to have an exhibition that we enjoy, professional standards are not required. We would also need some volunteers to be in the Church when the event is on, possibly to serve tea and cakes to visitors.

There is now a community notice board in the porch for advertising items wanted or for sale, holiday accommodation etc. Items for the notices or pewsheet should be handed to Michael Brooker or emailed to [email protected] by 12:00 pm on Thursday.
