Ipswich Choral Society: Come and sing ‘Messiah’ Sunday 17th September 2017

Sing the Hallelujah Chorus with a professional Baroque ensemble and professional soloists. Come along and join members of the Ipswich Choral Society, with professional period instrument ensemble Vivace!, and wonderful young soloists from the Royal Academy of Music in London and sing Handel's great Messiah - all in one day! Everyone is welcome, whether it's your first time trying a choir or you have lots of experience - it's all about having a great time singing together.

The day begins with rehearsal time led by Robin Walker, ICS Music Director and well-known choral conductor, to prepare each choral piece and learn a bit about how to sing well. After a break for tea, we will perform highlights from Messiah accompanied by our world-class players and soloists, all in the comfortable and modern surroundings of Suffolk One.

We will use the Novello Edition of Messiah (ISBN 978-0-85360-211-8), edited by Watkins Shaw. If you don’t have your own score we will provide one for you.
