PALM SUNDAY BAKE SALE - SJ Rosary Altar Society will sponsor a Bake Sale on Saturday & Sunday (TODAY) after all the Masses in the gathering area of SJ Church. SJ & IC - ALL 11 TH GRADE CONFIRMATION candidates are reminded that they are EXPECTED to be present for the feet washing on Holy Thursday which will take place at 7 PM Mass at both IC & SJ churches on April 13th. Other volunteers are welcome! IC ADULT CHOIR PRACTICE for Easter will be on Monday, April 10th at 7 PM in the church. New members are always welcome. SJ ROSARY ALTAR Soc. meeting will be on Tuesday, April 11th at 6:30 PM beginning with Rosary in the social hall. SJ & IC RELIGIOUS EDUCATION REGISTRATION: Anyone who has a child entering 1st grade for the 2017-2018 school year and will be attending our CCD program, it's time to register your child. Call the rectory at 495-5241 to request the registration form or pick up a form in the back of either church. Must be registered by April 20th, so please call as soon as possible. Any child not baptized at either SJ or IC Church - we must have a copy of his/her baptismal certificate. If any child is attending Holy Name School, please call and let us know. EASTER EGG HUNT: There will be an Easter Egg Hunt and activities on Saturday, APRIL 15THstarting at 11 AM at New Germany Grove Hall, for ages 1 year old to and including 5th grade. Youth Group members should arrive at 9 AM at the Grove. RSVP is appreciated, but not a must. Call Pam at the rectory 495-5241 to RSVP. SPRING TEA FOR SJ & IC ROSARY ALTAR SOCIETY MEMBERS: The annual Spring Tea will be on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at 2 PM at St. Bartholomew’s Church, Wilmore. Any member of our parishes, wishing to attend should call in their reservation by Friday, April 21st. SJ members call Peggy 495-5438 or Violet 495-4084. BISHOP MARK has directed that the precious blood be offered again at all Masses beginning on Palm Sunday weekend, April 8/9. Due to the severity of the flu season, the bishop directed that the blood not be offered during winter months. NGAA SPRING WORK DETAIL will be today, Sunday, April 9 starting at 11 AM. Please bring a rake. Help is needed. STATIONS OF THE CROSS: Wednesday at IC at 7 PM and Friday at SJ at 2 PM. SJ & IC EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS: On Holy Thursday, April 13th, during the 7:00 PM Mass at IC and SJ, a Re-Commissioning of the Ministers will take place for all present Eucharistic Ministers in both parishes. You will enter church in the procession and sit as a group in the front pews. All Eucharistic Ministers should try to attend. New Eucharistic ministers are still needed at both churches. Call the rectory 495-5241 to volunteer, ASAP. SJ & IC: Holy Thursday Adoration begins at 8:00 PM and ends at 10 PM. Come and adore the Blessed Sacrament. For adoration, families whose last names begin with these letters follow this schedule: A to M 9 to 10 PM & N to Z 8 PM to 9 PM. Yes, our individual and collective prayers are important. SJ & IC PARISH CHARITIES COLLECTION: Our thrice-annual Parish Charities collection will be taken up on Holy Thursday during the evening Mass. In the past, we have helped local families who have benefited greatly from this fund. Please be generous so we can continue to help these families and any others. Just use the special collection envelope that is in your pack. GOOD FRIDAY COLLECTION FOR THE HOLY LAND: Please be as generous as you can to our less fortunate sisters and brothers in the Holy Land. The annual collection for the Shrines & the people of the Holy Land is taken up on Good Friday, April 14th at both SJ & IC Churches. The special envelope is in your pack for this collection. Thank you! THE FINAL FOREST HILLS MINISTRERIUM LENTEN SERIES will be tonight, Sunday, April 9th at 7 PM at Wesley UMC in South Fork. Free will offering and refreshments served. All are welcome. Good Friday, April 14th will be the Cross Walk starting at 9 AM at Sidman UMC; Good Friday Service at Noon at South Fork First UMC. SUPERHEROES born in 2013 through those entering 7th grade are invited to discover their strength in God! Volunteers (8th grade and older) are needed to make VBC the fun, amazing place that it can be. Early Bird registration runs through May 1st. Hero registration forms are orange and volunteer forms are ivory and are in the gathering space of both churches. All forms are due by May 21st. SJ & IC: Since the Pope, Saint John Paul II, designated the Sunday after Easter Sunday as DIVINE MERCY Sunday; St. John Church, Summerhill, and Immaculate Conception Church, New Germany, will honor this saint's memory by sponsoring public and private prayer on Sunday, April 23, with exposition of the Blessed Sacrament at Immaculate Conception Church from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM. At the 3:00 pm hour, the Divine Mercy prayers will be prayed. All parishioners of our partnered parishes are encouraged to spend some time with our Blessed Jesus. SJ & IC CCD 9th and 10th grade students and Bishop Carroll HS: According to the Diocesan Confirmation guidelines written at the direction of Bishop Mark Bartchak, all 9th and 10th grade CCD and Bishop Carroll students must participate in the Sacramental Devotions (Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament) sponsored by the pastor of the parishes. We at St John and Immaculate Conception churches have scheduled Sacramental Devotions for our 9th and 10th graders to take place on Divine Mercy Sunday, April 23, 2017, at 1:30 to 3:30 pm, at Immaculate Conception Church. Light refreshments will follow in Marian Hall. Regular class for the 9/10 grades of SJ and IC on this day will be attendance for the Sacramental Devotion. It is mandatory that they attend this devotion. This will count as their class for the day. CARATS & CUPCAKES FOR A CURE on Saturday, April 22nd at 5 PM at Carrolltown Fire Company Social Hall.
