Manuscript and Printed Book Reprography Price List

Please note:

a) All copies from manuscripts and printed books are made using high- quality digital equipment designed specifically for archive and library use.

b) VAT is chargeable on all orders other than those for St Andrews University students requiring the copies for coursework, members of St Andrews University staff charging the work to departmental or research grant accounts, or external orders invoiced to countries where VAT is not applicable.

c) ‘Internal’ customers are defined as those who are members of the University of St Andrews Library. This does not include those who carry only day passes or Special Collections reader tickets.

d) Unless otherwise indicated, the charges are the same for A4 or A3 copies.

e) The charges noted below are for low-volume copying. High-volume (100 copies or more), or whole-book copying is charged at an hourly rate of £25 per hour (plus VAT where applicable) for scanning, plus either the electronic supply rate per CD required, or a print charge agreed according to the requirements of the order.

f) There is a minimum charge of £20 (VAT-exempt) or £23.50 (VAT- inclusive) for any order which requires to be invoiced.

This price list does not apply to the reproduction of photographs, and is not inclusive of any reproduction charges which may be applied to copying for commercial purposes. Please contact the Head of Special Collections for further information on terms and conditions for reproduction of any material supplied.

Copies provided on CD Black and white copies are provided on CD at the prices stated above, plus £5 (VAT-exempt) or £5.88 (VAT-inclusive) per CD. Colour or greyscale copies on CD are charged at double the rates for black and white copies, plus £5 (VAT-exempt) or £5.88 (VAT-inclusive) per CD.

Copies provided by email Copies can be provided by email in jpeg or pdf form. Prices are as above for supply on CD, without the additional charge per CD. For supply in .pdf format, it is helpful to know the version of Adobe Acrobat which will be used to open the files.
