Reunion Headquarters The Conference Center at the University of St. Mary of the Lake in the town of Mundelein, Illinois, is located just north of Chicago. This location was chosen because it is much less expensive than a downtown or airport hotel and because the beautiful university campus offers a natural beauty conducive to relaxation and leisurely visits with alumni friends. The old minor seminary building has been converted into a residence hall for the "Conference Center." All of our activities will be at the Conference Center, the main chapel, residence hall and the refectory; all buildings are air conditioned. We have access to the university grounds, indoor pool, chapel, etc. A few golf carts are available for those who need them to move from one building to another.

Transportation between O'Hare Airport and the Reunion Sites The simplest way to travel between O'Hare and the town of Mundelein is by taxi. The going rate is $40 per cab each way. The taxi company that offers this rate is "American Taxi." You can contact them upon arrival at the airport by calling (847) 255-9614.

The $225 Registration Fee This fee has not changed in years. It covers the Opening Mix Buffet on Tuesday evening; the beer, wine and soft drink bar during the Opening Mix; the full bar in the hospitality room on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings; the full bar and Annual Banquet on Wednesday evening; administrative expenses; the use of the chapel, sports facilities on campus and meeting rooms; a souvenir and the Thursday "Bum Run." No "sconto" for those who do not participate in various parts of the reunion.

Rev. Msgr. John A. Wall (RALEIGH, 1961) has left retirement for reassignment as Campus Chaplain and Pastor in Chapel Hill, NC at the University of North Carolina. He "loves it."

Msgr. William J. Hennessey (MIAMI, 1962) was recently Honored by the Holy Father with the distinction of being named Protonotary Apostolic Supernumerary.

Msgr. Charles M Murphy (PORTLAND IN MAINE, 1962) wrote an article, which appeared in Theological Studies about Pope Benedict XVI's encyclical, "God is Love."

Most Rev. John G. Vlazny (PORTLAND IN OREGON, 1962) will twenty-five years as a bishop at St. Mary's Cathedral in Portland on 12/14/2008.

Dr. Donald P. Casey (BROOKLYN, 1963) writes that he is "Still basking in the glow of our 45th anniversary celebration at St. Malo Retreat Center outside of Denver. What a super group!"

Rev. Msgr. Philip D. Morris (NEWARK, 1963) will retire on 7/1/2008 and reside at St. Rose of Lima, Short Hills, NJ.

Rev. Msgr. Dennis F. Sheehan (BOSTON, 1964, Casa 1980) after eleven years, moved in August 2007 from St. Paul's in Cambridge and the Catholic Student Center to Our Lady, Help of Christians in Newton, where he is Parochial Vicar.

Most Rev. Raphael M. Fliss (SUPERIOR, Casa 1965) writes that he is recently retired after an 18- month wait for a successor.

Most Rev. Michael J. Sheehan (SANTA FE, 1965, Casa 1971) will celebrate his twenty-fifth anniversary as a bishop on 06/17/2008. He writes that he can still ski and sit up and take nourishment.

Rev. Msgr. Gregory Moys (PORTLAND IN ORGON, 1965) was made a Chaplain to His Holiness 8/13/2007.

Rev. David Douglas (LAFAYETTE IN INDIANA, 1966) is presently undergoing chemotherapy to control a cancerous brain tumor. He had brain surgery one year ago. He asks for our prayers.

Rev. Msgr. John A. Alesandro (ROCKVILLE CENTRE, 1967, Casa 1971) delivered a major address at the national convention of the Canon Law Society of America in October of 2007.

Rev. Msgr. Gerald Kobbeman (ROCKFORD, 1967) was named Chaplain to His Holiness 4/8/2008.

Rev. Bernard R. "Bob" Bonnot (YOUNGSTOWN, 1968) was installed as pastor at St. Nicholas parish on 9/30/2007. Discerned to be a member of Priests' Council and named a Consultor in 3/2008; member of Diocese & ELCA Synod Covenant Commission.

Rev. Patrick J. McCormick (ATLANTA, 1969) will be in Afghanistan until February, 2009. His address will be Religious Ministries Dept; CSTC - A; APO AE 09356.

Most Rev. Richard Pates (DES MOINES, 1969) was appointed Bishop of Des Moines on 4/10/2008.

Rev. Msgr. David Bohr (SCRANTON, 1972, Casa 1977) writes as follows: "After leaving NAC as Academic Dean in June, 2007, I was graciously granted a year-long sabbatical by my ordinary, Bishop Joseph F. Martino (1971, Casa 1982) to write a book-length historical and theological reflection on the diocesan priesthood, developing the course outline of a class I taught at NAC."

Most. Rev. Gerald N. Dino (VAN NUYS RUTHENIAN, 1972) previously the pastor of St. George Parish in Linden, NJ and protosyncellus of Passaic, was named bishop of Van Nuys in December, 2007, succeeding Bishop William C. Skurla, who succeeds Bishop Andrew Pataki (Casa 1972) in Passaic.

Rev. Msgr. V. Paul Fitzmaurice (GREENSBURG, 1972) has been assigned to a three-year term on the bishop's cabinet.

Most Rev. Andrew Pataki ( PASSAIC RUTHENIAN, Casa 1972) having reached the age of eighty, retired 12/2007.

Most Rev. Thomas Olmstead (PHOENIX, 1973) Bishop of Phoenix, was named Administrator of the Diocese Gallup on 1/2/2008. - 4 - Rev. James M. Farrell (INDIANAPOLIS, 1975) was named Director of Fatima Retreat House, Indianapolis on 2/25/2008 while remaining pastor of St. Barnabas Parish, Indianapolis. He has recorded his third in a series of guided meditations in a series entitled "Pathways to Prayer."

Rev. John Mericantante (PALM BEACH, 1975) is "...really excited about building a 9000 sq. ft. California Mission Style church to seat 500 for 400 Hispanic Migrant families. They have obtained five large paintings of the infancy of Christ for this "Bethlehem" of the Diocese of Palm Beach."

Most Rev. Patrick Zurek (AMARILLO, 1975) was named Bishop of Amarillo on 1/3/2008.

Rev. Msgr. Timothy Doherty (ROCKFORD, 1976) was named Chaplain to His Holiness 4/8/2008. Most Rev. Earl Boyea (LANSING, 1977, Casa 1987) was installed as fifth Bishop of Lansing on 4/29/2008.

Most Rev. Timothy P. Broglio (MILITARY SERVICES, 1977) was transferred from the Apostolic Nunciature in the Dominican Republic and named Archbishop for Military Services. He was installed 1/21/2008.

Rev. J. Jefferson DeBlanc, Jr. (LAFAYETTE IN LA, 1977) was named Episcopal Vicar for West Region of Diocese of Lafayette in July of 2007. He was named a Chaplain to His Holiness in October 2007.

Rev. Msgr. James B. Anderson (GALVESTON-HOUSTON, 1978, Casa 1988) after eight years as pastor of St. Rose of Lima in Houston, has returned to teaching full-time as Assistant Professor of Theology at the School of Theology of the University of St. Thomas at St. Mary's Seminary, Houston.

Rev. Richard M. "Rick" Colletti (WINONA, 1978) was appointed Rector of Sacred Heart Cathedral on 2/1/2008.

Rev. Joseph Barr (BALTIMORE, 1978) was in January, 2008, elected by his peers to be the convener for the priests of Anne Arundel County and their representative to the Presbyteral Council.

Rev. Jay A. Peterson (GREAT FALLS-BILLINGS, 1978) with the installation of Bishop Warfel in January, 2007, is no longer serving as Diocesan Administrator.

Rev. Msgr. Francis X. Blood (ST. LOUS, 1979) was appointed to the National Board of the Pontifical Mission Societies in the USA in April 2007.

Most Rev. Joseph Marino (APOSTOLIC NUNCIATURE OF BANGLADESH, 1979) was ordained archbishop in St. Paul's Cathedral in Birmingham on March 29, 2008. In late April, he reported to work as Papal Nuncio to Bangladesh, the tenth most populous nation on earth, with a population of 150 million, about 300,000 of them Catholics.

Rev. Jeremiah Murasso (HARTFORD, 1979) recently published "Logotherapy and the Logos of God in Christic Wisdom." The work, soft cover, $20.00, eighty pages, is now available on essencbookstore.com

Rev. Msgr. Joseph P. Calise (BROOKLYN, 1980) will end his term as Rector-Principal of the Cathedral Preparatory Seminary in September, 2008, and will become pastor of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish in Brooklyn, NY.

Rev. Sidney J. Marceaux (BEAUMONT, Casa 1980) is serving as an army chaplain in Kuwait. He arrived 10/2007 and will return 10/2008.

Most. Rev. Anthony Taylor (LITTLE ROCK, 1980) was appointed Bishop of Little Rock on 4/10/2008.

Rev. Thomas Mischler (GARY, 1981) Writes: "I have joined the ranks of many other brother pastors serving more than one parish. I am now pastor of both Holy Rosary and St. Mary of the Lake."

Rev. Ralph E. Wiatrowski (CLEVELAND, Casa 1981) has been the pastor of St. Barnabas Parish in Northfield, OH since 9/1/2007. His former assignment was Chancellor of the Diocese of Cleveland.

Rev. Nicholas Zukowski (DETROIT, 1981) celebrated twenty-five years of priesthood on 5/1/2007 and fifteen years as pastor on 7/1/2007.

Rev. Msgr. Andrew Anderson (MIAMI, Casa 1982) was named a Prelate of Honor on July 31, 2007.

Rev. William A. Ford (STOCKTON, 1982) celebrated his twenty-fifth anniversary of ordination 8/14/2007.

Rev. Michael Mescher (DUBUQUE, 1983) recently retired from the United States Air Force Reserve.

- 5 - Rev. Michael G. Witczak (MILWAUKEE, Casa 1986) after twenty-four years at St. Francis Seminary, Milwaukee, was appointed Asst. Professor of Liturgy in the School of Theology and Religious Studies at Catholic University, effective September 2007.

Rev. Robert Congdon (BOSTON, 1987, Casa 1997) writes that he is Senior Chaplain at the Harvard Catholic Chaplaincy and Pastor of the Boston Archdiocesan Boys Choir.

Rev. Msgr. Michael Kurz (ROCKFORD, 1987) was named Chaplain to His Holiness 4/8/2008.

Rev. Msgr. Jerry Sherba (RALEIGH, Casa 1987) was named chancellor of the Diocese of Raleigh in July,2007. He continues as Vicar Judicial (since 1990) and Rector of the Cathedral (since 2000). He will be one of four keynote speakers at the 2008 Eastern Regional Conference of Canonists (May 5 -7) in Charleston, SC.

Rev. D. Stephen McCrate (BEAUMONT, 1989) writes that on 6/3/2008 he will be completing twelve years as pastor of a growing Hispanic community at St. Joseph Parish in Port Arthur, Texas.

Rev. Daniel F. Moore (MEMPHIS, Casa 1990/2005) writes that his 2006 dissertation is being published by Continuum Books on 6/15/08. The STD - PUG - systematic theology dissertation is being published under the title" "Jesus, An Emerging Jewish Mosaic: Jewish Perspective, Post-Holocaust."

Most Rev. James D. Conley (DENVER, Casa 1991) was appointed Auxiliary Bishop of Denver on 4/10/2008.

Rev. David J. Tokarz (MOBILE, 1991) is now the Ecumenical Officer of the Diocese of Mobile.

Rev. Philip A. Altavilla (SCRANTON, 1992) was appointed Episcopal Vicar of the Northern Pastoral Region and continues as Diocesan Director of Ecumenism and Interfaith Affairs.

Rev. Joseph G. Fonti (BROOKLYN, 1992, Casa 1998) as of September, 2008, will be the Director of Saints Peter and Paul Spirituality Center, Douglaston, New York.

Rev. John R. Cihak (PORTLAND IN OREGON, 1997, Casa 2007) gave the priests' retreat for the Diocese of New Ulm 4/2007.

Rev. Mark David Knestout (WASHINGTON, 1997) was appointed Director of the Office of Worship in July 2007. He resides at the Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle.

Rev. Msgr. James F. Pereda (ROCKVILLE CENTRE, Casa 1997) was appointed Judicial Vicar 6/27/2007 and made a Chaplain of His Holiness 10/3/2007.

Rev. David L. Toups (ST. PETERSBURG, 1997, Casa 2004) currently working at the Bishops' Conference in Washington, D.C, recently published "Reclaiming Our Priestly Character" published by IPF.

Rev. John P. Cush (BROOKLYN, 1998) is currently teaching English and Theology and serving as Formation Director at the Cathedral Preparatory Seminary in Brooklyn.

Rev. Czeslaw M. Krysa (BUFFALO, Casa 1998) was appointed Director of the Office of Worship in January, 2008. He is a Visiting Lecturer at Christ the King Seminary, East Aurora, New York.

Rev. Msgr. MIchael A. Souckar (MIAMI, Casa 1998) was named a Prelate of Honor to His Holiness 12/2007.

Rev. Msgr. Christopher Nalty (NEW ORLEANS, 1999) was named a monsignor on 1/1/2008.

Rev. Leo E. Patalinghug (BALTIMORE, 1999) authored a book: "Grace Before Meals: Recipes for Family Life." See www.gracebeforemeals.com

Rev. R. Paul Heiting (WINONA, Casa 2002) is continuing in his sixth year as Spiritual Director of IHM Seminary and as Judicial Vicar of the Diocesan Marriage Tribunal.

Rev. Ron Richards (DETROIT, 2004) is the Temporary Administrator of St. Anne's Parish in Ortonville , Michigan, while he is attending Catholic University in the Summer Canon Law Program.

Rev. James David Carter (KNOXVILLE, 2005) will resume studies in Canon Law at the Gregorian in the Fall of 2008.

Rev. Eric F. Hastings (DULUTH, 2005, Casa 2007) is pastor of St. Benedict in Duluth, Moderator of the Curia, Vice Chancellor, and Adjutant Judicial Vicar. He still found time to visit Fr. Shane Baxter (class of 2003) in Beaumont and Frs. Curtis Mallet (Casa 2007) and Shawn Corcoran (also Casa 2007) in Lafayette, LA.

Listed below are the names of our most recently deceased brother alumni. The Alumni Association has arranged for a Mass to be celebrated in the College Chapel for each of our deceased brothers.

All alumni are encouraged to remember in prayer and at Mass our deceased brother alumni. Holy cards will be sent along with the Annual Directory, which will arrive this summer.

News comes to us in very different ways about the passing of our alumni. Sometimes classmates are very good about sending in photographs and internet links to newspaper notices.

Although not all the information we receive can be reprinted in the newsletter, it is all available on our website. We regret that space limitations do not allow us to give more ample obituaries of our alumni. For complete obituaries go to our website at pnac.org.
