Photography Syllabus Can be taken two times (one unit credit each) Teacher: Jill Gallagher Email: [email protected] This syllabus is subject to change throughout the semester.
Course Description Photography is an exploration of digital photography. The course will introduce the student to the tools, materials, and techniques needed to create high level of competence and creativity. The history of photography will be introduced along with art criticism and aesthetic judgment.
Course Requirements: 1. Daily attendance, active participation and a positive attitude. 2. Clean, professional presentation 3. Responsible care of the art studio 4. Complete all tasks and projects by set deadline 5. Demonstrate an understanding of materials taught
Grading: 1. Projects/ Photo Shoots 68% 2. Quizzes, Exams, Research Projects, etc. 17% 3. Final Exam (may be exempted according to school policy) 15%
Tutoring: upon appointment
Materials needed: DIGITAL CAMERA USB cable or card reader 3 ring binder Colored pencils
Turning in a project on time will not necessarily guarantee a passing grade on substandard or incomplete work. Students will be required to take pictures outside of class time as homework assignments.
