Weather  Weather vs Climate  Heat Transfer: Conduction, Convection and Radiation  Weather Myths  Building your House and how Weather impacts the design

PART B: House Essay Question

 Refer to the House Power Point on my Website as you read through the Essay Expectations.  Bring your research, ideas and thoughts in well planned out jot notes so you can compose your essay on Exam day.

Throughout our time in Science 10, we have related our studies to “building a house” in Nova Scotia. Your task is to compose an essay where you demonstrate your knowledge of each of our 4 Units showing how each relates to building your house. If you would like to sketch, draw your house to illustrate your concepts or even bring a model with your concepts outlined. See me to discuss your choice before the exam.

Essay Components:

 Introduction: Explain to the reader what your objective is for this essay and how you will demonstrate your ideas.  How does the house relate to each science? Here you will address each question from our Power Point with your ideas and research to answer each question. Your knowledge of concepts discussed in each Science is key as well as the terminology used throughout our course.  You should have at least 3 ideas for each science that will address each Science’s group of questions.  Evidence of research should be apparent.  Presentation: Paragraphs, spelling and grammar count and or detail of sketch/model.  Conclusion where you wrap up your ideas and look to the future where one day you will construct your own house!
